Veterans take it in the shorts again

FLD, you are right on about broken promises, as well as the rest of what you've written, esp. redistribution to the top of the food chain while leaving subsistence rations for the rest.

The war of northern aggression led by the war criminal Lincoln consolidated power in Washington, DC. Next came the federal reserve act of 1913, and the sixteenth amendment of the same year establishing the income tax and hear we are 100 years later suffering what some will argue is the Greatest Recession, and potentially the Greater Depression.

The Affordable Care Act being upheld by John Roberts and his esteemed colleagues as not a tax, but fines being collected by the IRS, may go down like the Hindenburg. What else is it likely to take with it. Those at the top, the 1/10th of 1 percent of society have their life rafts, so do the 4th and 5th generation federal bureaucrats.

What were we talking about? Oh, yeah! Cuts in benefits. Pragmatically, the budget and federal obligations must be cut without exception. This is neither the beginning nor the end. There are $220T in unfunded federal obligations. I'm just waiting for the real cuts, which may not happen except as an emergency measure in response to, perhaps the crash of the dollar. Either way, the federal government will default on it's obligations. The alternative is US global hegemony where the dollar is accepted universally at the point of a gun, which is the current stalemate in the ME over petro dollars and gas pipelines. Another possibility is a global currency, which isn't likely given the debt status of nearly every major industrialized nation. To whom do these countries owe all this money? I think it's been researched, and it's about 10 families and around 400 individuals. Perhaps it's time to redistribute some of their wealth.

The bottom line is if man was able to save himself, Jesus Christ would need not have died on the cross. If it was possible to get ourselves out of this mess with good works and intentions, we wouldn't be in it. There have been many good men who have fought the good fight. It is only by belief in the truth of God's Word, confess Jesus as Lord and believe God raised him from the dead, that we are saved. When we stand together, the world may go up in flames around us, we know are not alone. "For he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." (1 John 4:4b, ESV)

The Constitution of the United States upholds the rights of the individual against those of the state, especially the bill of rights. The preamble to the Constitution defines the legitimate role of government, and it is such that every representative of the federal government is sworn to uphold. Perhaps, "so help me god" should be replaced with "on pain of death", but I will let God be their judge, as he is the judge of all.
