WE THOUGHT IT WAS THE EIGHTH INNING « The Burning Platform

I've been waiting for an appropriate post to remind about the risk in Europe after Merkel's re-election. TPTP pulled out all the stops to maintain status quo until the German election. This Spring will bring the prols out of their hovels to demonstrate en masse, which will be met by an authoritarian police state which has run out of goodies to give away.

Since the US and Chinese Central Banks have backed all of the other central banks on the planet, QE will continue until January 1, 2017, by then we'll either be embroiled in a world war, or a police state crackdown in the US. Of course, trillions of dollars buys a lot of space, but since the systemic causes of the 2008 financial crisis haven't been addressed, malinvestment will continue, while the mathematically certain insolvency of social security and medicare are conveniently ignored, until the system collapses in one dysfunctional dystopian nightmare.

Our handlers are convinced the solution is one world government and a global currency. I'm sure that will fix everything, as if central planning ever fixed anything. The correct solution is decentralization, albeit a strong national defense is necessary.

One need only look to the Preamble of the United States Constitution to see what is necessary for sound governance. Wealth inequality being an antithesis to the principles upon which this country was founded. One need only look to the first ten amendments to adopt guiding principles by which to downsize the federal workforce, and check the unprecedented growth of federal and multi-national corporate control of the Gross Domestic Product.

We don't need UN Agenda 21 and the Trans Pacific Partnership in order to "form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, [and } insure domestic Tranquility". What we need are "We the People of the United States", to stand up and oppose the entrenched interests in the Federal Government and multi-national corporations. What we need are Tea Party Conservatives in national office, who will oppose the established traitorous leadership in the House and Senate. If not in 2014, then when? If not at the polls, where? If not us, who?

 I don't believe it's too late to stand up for right, reason and sensibility.

Veterans take it in the shorts again

FLD, you are right on about broken promises, as well as the rest of what you've written, esp. redistribution to the top of the food chain while leaving subsistence rations for the rest.

The war of northern aggression led by the war criminal Lincoln consolidated power in Washington, DC. Next came the federal reserve act of 1913, and the sixteenth amendment of the same year establishing the income tax and hear we are 100 years later suffering what some will argue is the Greatest Recession, and potentially the Greater Depression.

The Affordable Care Act being upheld by John Roberts and his esteemed colleagues as not a tax, but fines being collected by the IRS, may go down like the Hindenburg. What else is it likely to take with it. Those at the top, the 1/10th of 1 percent of society have their life rafts, so do the 4th and 5th generation federal bureaucrats.

What were we talking about? Oh, yeah! Cuts in benefits. Pragmatically, the budget and federal obligations must be cut without exception. This is neither the beginning nor the end. There are $220T in unfunded federal obligations. I'm just waiting for the real cuts, which may not happen except as an emergency measure in response to, perhaps the crash of the dollar. Either way, the federal government will default on it's obligations. The alternative is US global hegemony where the dollar is accepted universally at the point of a gun, which is the current stalemate in the ME over petro dollars and gas pipelines. Another possibility is a global currency, which isn't likely given the debt status of nearly every major industrialized nation. To whom do these countries owe all this money? I think it's been researched, and it's about 10 families and around 400 individuals. Perhaps it's time to redistribute some of their wealth.

The bottom line is if man was able to save himself, Jesus Christ would need not have died on the cross. If it was possible to get ourselves out of this mess with good works and intentions, we wouldn't be in it. There have been many good men who have fought the good fight. It is only by belief in the truth of God's Word, confess Jesus as Lord and believe God raised him from the dead, that we are saved. When we stand together, the world may go up in flames around us, we know are not alone. "For he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." (1 John 4:4b, ESV)

The Constitution of the United States upholds the rights of the individual against those of the state, especially the bill of rights. The preamble to the Constitution defines the legitimate role of government, and it is such that every representative of the federal government is sworn to uphold. Perhaps, "so help me god" should be replaced with "on pain of death", but I will let God be their judge, as he is the judge of all.

WAR ON CHRISTMAS « The Burning Platform

Christmas sucks! It's essentially a pagan celebration of the winter solstice brought about by the Romans in the 3rd century at the Council of Nicea as a compromise between christianity and paganism to establish a state religion. It's where we get the doctrine of the trinity, christmas, the celebration of the winter solstice, and easter, spring fertility rites.

Jesus was born Sept 11, 3 BC, we know this from the astronomical conjuction of the five visible planets in that year, the sign which the wise men of Egypt saw two years before they arrived in Jerusalem. This is the time of year shepherds would have been in their fields tending flocks, not Decemember.

September 11, quite a coincidence, eh? Given that the end of the year is a time of family get togethers for many, the ministry I've supported for over 20 years which was founded in the 1960's by a wonderful man of god, simply uses the phrase Happy Holidays, which conveys the same meaning without the pagan observance.

Do my kids still get gifts, yes, and we still decorate. I'm not an asshole, well, anyway, and I'm thankful the kids are old enough not to believe in fairy tales like Satan Claus and the easter bunny. Bunnies don't lay eggs. We talk about what God says in his word in our household, the truth. Not a bunch of made up bullshit from mainstream religion and perpetuated by the media.

It's a bit ironic that this athiest hates a pagan holiday. Besides that, the first amendment is not a freedom from religion amendment, it's freedom of religion.

This Spring we'll talk more about what day was Jesus Christ crucified on the cross. It wasn't good Friday.

Here Comes the SUN! « The Burning Platform

You lost me in the second paragraph with the arbitrary capitalization. Capitalism is still non-authoritative.  I'm going to go back and read the the rest, but one thing at a time.

I will have to say, too, that making capitalized words bolded, doesn't improve the flaw.

Good luck with the project. Sustainability is a term that will become the latest buzz word as it moves into mainstream terminology. Dmitry Orlov over at Club Orlov has been writing about communities that abide. I haven't bought into the concept, because, while everyone will recognize the importance of sustainability, a population event is going to need to occur before it becomes a reality. Detroit is currently growing their own food in the abandoned inner city. You may have written about that. I know I read it in a couple of places. Sustainable anything isn't going to happen until it's a necessity.

You're correct, the Greater Depression will potentially have more serious consequences than the 30's as the US "reverts to the mean," but the mean of what? First world countries? Or, are first world countries going to revert to the mean between 1st and 2nd world countries. Either way, the US is still better off than the rest of the world, until it isn't. There will always be the downward pressure of reversion, however, the US will be able to perpetually avoid the plagues of the rest of the world, unless we're invaded, or taken over by a police state. You see where the pressure is coming from.

What is the capacity of the earth to sustain life? I'll stop there, but sustainability will need to come from communities which band together, with the family unit at the core. Something Satan and our own government seem dead set against.

I will say this, too, that the USCON is the best legal instrument by which to effect liberty, which should be the goal of sustainable culture, and it is this document which those who serve and have served in the US military, and those who are elected to national office, have sworn to uphold and defend. There is also a subversive element within the government, and outside of it, which seek to annul it, the POTUS, current and preceding notwithstanding.

In attempting to provide health care for all, TPTB have only managed to re-distribute it. How's that hope and change working out for you?

In the 60's. the health insurance industry successfully lobbied USCON to give us Medicare, effectively hiding the real cost of cradle to grave care in the federal deficit. When someone paying health care premiums all their lives turned 65, now magically they're the feds responsibility. This kicked the can down the road 50 years.

Now, the health insurance industry has written the ACA, to provide universal health care, subsidized by federal spending, which politicians will use to by votes. Unfortunately for these forward thinkers, the wheels are about to come off the bus, as this redistribution of health care to those who can't pay by raising the premiums of all is about to implode. What was John Roberts thinking, when he said the fine for not buying healthcare wasn't a tax. THE FREAKIN IRS IS COLLECTING IT!!! Because without the fine, no one would buy it. Oh, and corporations are people, too. What do you want on your tombstone? Talk about useful idiots, well, it was GWB who put him there.

The ACA is the noose tightened on the necks of the American people, who above all want their freedom. Will civil disobedience turn into civil unrest? The impact of the internet and the availability of the world's knowledge at one's fingertips, literally in one's hand, can bring about the social change that any reasonable individual would desire. It is convulsing those that would seek to limit it for their own nefarious purpose. At this point, it's only a race to see which arrives first, freedom or tyranny.

THE “I” WORD « The Burning Platform

How has Obama done anything worse than Bush? It was Clinton that enabled, and then Bush that allowed the sub-prime mortgage crisis. 9/11 on Bush's watch, 1 trillion dollar wars, 1 trillion dollar bail out. And famously telling his advisers when reminded of the CONUS, "quit waving that god damned piece of paper in my face!" He was duped by his cabinet into going to war in Iraq over non-existent wmd's.

Laissez-faire capitalism was implemented as unaccountability and recklessness and the tax payers are left holding the bag. Unfucking believable, yet it's happening even now. I wondered where I was during the digital revolution, and I now I know. I was there all along. Individuals are being treated as pawns and chattel by corporations and governments, and mostly being lied to.

Obama has done nothing more or less than any of his predecessors. There is nothing new under the sun. I disagree with his policies, and they will send the economy over the cliff, but only because we were on the edge of it.

I heard this in a Netflix movie recently, "Sometimes a sheep just needs to be pushed through the fence" I thought it was pretty funny, but I can't think of a single sheep that needs to be pushed off a cliff. Funny or not.

I've read all the opinions about how Obama is deliberately attempting to sabotage our economy. I don't give him that much credit. However, those who put him there, and there's no doubt which god is pulling the strings, are the same one's who made sure whether Romney or Obama won, they got what they wanted. That has been the case since Reagan. Reagan talked the talk, but did the opposite. George Read My Lips Herbert Walker Bush, the billionaire, did neither. Clinton sold us out, There has not been a POTUS or candidate since Carter that had any integrity, until Ron Paul.

The opinions about Obama are incorrect, there's something else more sinister and diabolical going on. Those who think they're going to rule in hell, are sadly mistaken, for him whom they serve will as surely destroy them as he would the rest of us, and the world. It is only by the grace of God Almighty, creator of all and the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ that we even exist. I pity the fool who thinks they can bear arms against the almighty. Only one entity has attempted to do so in all of creation, and we see how well that turned out. Let's be mindful of which God we serve. I don't think I'm preaching to the choir, given the token dislikes I get from Zara and friends, although perhaps I am. That would be something, in and of itself. God bless and to him belongs all honor and glory, kingdom without end, amen.

MILLENNIALS WILL BE THE DEATH OF OBAMACARE « The Burning Platform

Once the ACA fails, what will replace it? Single payer medi-care for all? All, that is, except Congress.

When the dollar fails, the feds will nationalize all pensions, private and public, and put everyone on Social Security. Everyone, this is, except Congress.

How else can one fund $228T of unfunded federal obligations. Iceland is shelling out over a billion in mortgage debt forgiveness. One could wipe away all of the debt in the world, and wipe away the wealth of the global elite in one swipe. They are, essentially, growing increasingly wealthy on the interest on the debt of nations, which wasn't the case 8 years ago, but it sure was where we were headed.

I don't blame Obama more than any other POTUS going back to Reagan. They've been willing dupes. Hillary tried to get this health care monstrosity enacted during the first year of Bill Clinton's first term in office. Money, power, and greed have been a driving force since the inception of the federal government, and the pendulum may well have swung as far as it can toward federal power, with the budget being the one and only weapon to stem the tide of overreach.

We've past the point where a balanced budget can be enacted. As Barry Goldwater predicted, interest on the federal debt, federal retirement, and all of the other unfunded obligations will exceed revenue.

There are those who say a balanced budget isn't necessary, that deficits don't matter. Really?

If Americans wanted change, they would have elected Ron Paul. They didn't, and they're reaping what they've sown. It's not unprecedented in the course of human history. One need only read the old testament to see what a stiff necked and rebellious people the nation of Israel were. We may have our own carrying away unto Babylon, not because there is any other country more powerful than the United States, but because we have allowed our nation's leadership to be usurped by the global elite. I don't know that there has been a time in our nation's history where that hasn't been the case. The tools of control have become that much more refined, and we see it's intended result. The destruction of social order, and we know who is the destroyer, the Devil. It's only by the truth of God's word that we might be saved. God save us.

CHINESE BLACK FRIDAY, PART 1 « The Burning Platform

Well, maybe if we start manufacturing goods in the good ol' US of A, once again, then we can put a few people to work, even though I can't imagine who would want to the hire the FSA.

We'll have to import some immigrants to do the work.

If, in fact, the price of imports goes up, is that the end of US consumerism? If there never was any recovery to begin with, can there really be an end of it?

The really big dilemma for the Fed is, when you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't, what do you do? Get out ahead of everyone else. But, get out of what, dodge? Where do you go?

The only seemingly acceptable solution for the top 1% would seem to be the implementation of a police state, which, I believe can be shown to be as feasible as universal health care. We are not the British, nor Canadian. Nor are we sheep;

"As it is written,

   For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
   we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." (Romans 8:36-37, ESV)

God will not abandon his elect, and it is him in whom we have hope. Hope for the return of Christ and the establishment of his Kingdom, once and for all. The devil can have this world, we have set our sight on a new city, one without blemish, whose foundation is the truth of God's Word. Neither shall we be deterred, not withstanding all the wiles of the wicked one.

"By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God." (Hebrews 11:8-10, ESV).

The devil is a formidable opponent, but with God on our side, we shall prevail.

Whitehouse.gov - Something to think about this Thanksgiving:

I get e-mail updates from the left because I like to know what the other side is up to, most of it is pretty nauseating, but I still keep up with WH public communications. This was in my inbox this morning.

After extolling the virtues of food stamps, the last paragraph blames Republicans for attempting to cut SNAP. I'm reminded of two things this Thanksgiving, the truism "give a man a fish, and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime." SNAP is nothing more than Welfare 2.0, and the Obama administration has been recruiting people to sign up. Literally attempting to bankrupt our socialist system. "70% since 2008 to a record 47.8 million as of December 2012" as discussed in this [url=http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424127887323699704578328601204933288]WSJ article[/url].

The second thing that comes to mind, are the reports of abuses in the SNAP program, as discussed in this [url=http://www.freedomworks.org/blog/andrewmontgomery39/top-10-reasons-food-stamps-need-to-be-reformed]Freedom Works blog post[/url]. While the left claims waste, fraud, and abuse in the program is a "myth".

I'm all for helping the poor, I just don't feel our government has the responsibility to do it. When did we lose sight of the principles enshrined in the preamble of the Declaration of Independence,

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Indeed, the mid-term elections are critical to the end of countering the destructive socialist policies of the left, by electing Tea Party conservatives to office, and those who will uphold the Constitution of these United States. Amen and God bless!

Geek Resilience « The Burning Platform

Billy's like a tree hugger who drives around in his Subaru/Prius/Tesla telling everyone else carbon fuels are useless.

Flash, why a Kindle? It's a locked version of Android. Why not a Nexus? Then you can get the Kindle app, including one for the Chrome browser, and it keeps everything in sync, including the furthest page read. I've been reading some survivalist lit including Lucifer's Hammer, an oldie, but goodie. Also some Archer Garrett, Matthew Bracken, Max Velocity, gotta love free downloads. Then I don't mind spending a few dollars to catch the rest in a series.

Luckily for RE, there's enough coffee shops around, that in TEOTWAWKI, some of them will surely survive.

I've added HAM radio to my preps. Currently 2m and may expand to HF. Building a go box with switchable power, etc. I want to be able to at least monitor UHF/HF communication. EMP's, solar flares, etc. are a concern, and I may put some redundant electronics in a faraday box, including USB drives, etc.

The most likely scenario requires economic survival, i.e. maintaining an income to pay the bills while the US reverts to the mean, and hopefully wakes up from the dystopian nightmare of socialist neo-feudalism. Not very likely, so individual preps take on that much more importance.

LIBERAL FASCISM MARCHES ON « The Burning Platform

Every succeeding POTUS since Reagan has been progressively worse, which is when the deficit spending curve began it's current trajectory, to the point where we're on the vertical leading edge of it.

Tax and spend liberals have become borrow and spend fascists.

The US Government is the largest unionized work force in the world. Of course they're going to put a boot on your neck to protect their pensions. They're pensions go the way of the dollar, and a valid argument can be made to suggest the US foreign policy has been all about preserving the status of the dollar as the world's reserve currency. How many lives is that worth. It depends who you ask.

If Americans wanted a change, they would have voted for Ron Paul, but his voice wasn't allowed to be heard by the Romney campaign, which played just about as dirty as politics gets. On par with what is going on in WI.

You've got to love the hypocrisy of politics, it's ok if I do it, because the other side does it. WTF, over?

UNMITIGATED DISASTER « The Burning Platform

When it all goes to stew, everyone will be impacted. It shouldn't feel good.

I'm high enough on the food chain to realize civil unrest will destabilize our society should status quo fail. I'm in favor of reform versus failure.

While it may come to failure, I haven't neglected preparing for the worst. I could have prepared better for the latter.

I would like to see a better future for my children. The boomer crisis will have played out within the next 5 - 10 years, not 20. The GFC, the administration's subsequent erroneous response (GB II), and the current administration's response to bailing out wall street by helping themselves to the public till, has hastened the inevitable. Whether we have decades of stagnant growth remains to be seen.

When people aren't working, there's only so long before the burden can be carried no longer by the working poor. The FSA will be the first to revolt, then those who have benefited the most from profligate public spending will pull the rip cord, and it will be up to those of us who remain to clean up the mess.

The status quo would prefer to install a police state, and are working hard to that end. Given the success rate of government programs to date, I don't give them much chance of success, even if they declare war on the American people, which historically would appear to be the only thing they're good at. We're not native American Indians with no education or training, or ME camel jockeys. With the exception of the FSA, most of us excel beyond that of our peers and the typical government drone.

They don't even have enough sense to get out of the way, which is the only thing they really need to do. It will happen, but by what impetus remains to be seen, even if it means TEOTWAWKI.

SOMETHING IS HAPPENING « The Burning Platform

Anyone care to forecast for 12 months? Last Jan 1st was the sequester, long term unemployment cuts, and the expiration of the Bush II tax cuts.

This year it was going to be the ACA employer mandate, but that was too risky in an election season so it was postponed, but there’s still the individual mandate.

The numbers I keep seeing for borrowing don’t add up to the deficit numbers. 3 years ago 11 0f 50 states were technically bankrupt with an aggregate $280B budget deficit which must be closed. Did they magically turn the corner on their budgets?

This year’s circus will be soley focused on the November mid terms, with all eyes on every last seat. TE forecast 50% incumbent wins, Sensetti forecast 98%. It really depends on the stock market. TPTB know how to rock the vote. Even then, they can’t materialize wealth out of thin air while they continue the pillage of the US Treasury. The end game being rentier interest payments in perpetuity, for money they literally printed.

I still say abolish the Fed, print $16T and pay off the debt and establish a balanced budget amendment. This doesn’t address over $200T in unfunded federal obligations, so, re-negotiate them. We’ll be whole within 10 years with limitless prosperity on the horizon once the feds are out of the way. Otherwise, we’re looking at totalitarian dictatorship.

It’s hard to forecast the next 12 months, but for sure we’ll be in a worse place, notwithstanding QE to infinity. They’ll keep printing through 2016 and beyond, because they don’t have any choice. The rest of the world may stop taking dollars, which makes the fight for control of the middle east that much more important, and as soon as you factor in the geo politics of energy, the world becomes a scarier place. We may even have to start pumping our own oil out of the ground.

How does this play out for the global elite? Fine as long as the US is hamstrung by debt, which brings me back to my original suggestion, abolish the fed, pay off the debt, and re-negotiate unfunded obligations, which means basically all retirees will be on SS and Medicaid, which, is, as it should be.

Clear for now.

F_I, rents are high because demand is high. We see how midas made housing affordable for everyone. Inflation is an invention of government, and the ACA is poised to do to the labor and health care industry what CONUS did for the housing market, brought to us by the same idiots who have become rich while in office, and continue to fleece their constituents (Pelosi).

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6a, ESV) It was for a lack of knowledge of God's word that his people were being destroyed. Jesus Christ exposed the kingdom of the adversary 2000 years ago, prior to then God's people had to follow all kinds of ordinances to be clean. We are fighting the same enemy today, yet, our Constitution which limits the right of government is being used to limit individual rights. The only recourse is to stand against the wiles of the adversary.

"Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm." (Ephesians 6:13, ESV)

God has given us all we need to prosper and overcome evil, it is only up to us to claim what is rightfully ours, and rebuke the evil that is in the world.

With God's help, the ACA will be the albatross which lands the tea party in control of both houses.

Next year's elections, and January's swearings in can't come too soon.

MMT is a utopian vision. Keynes is all we needed, yet government didn't contract during periods of prosperity. Therein lies the rub.

The FACTS are, expanding and contracting the money supply accomplishes little if their is no public spending constraint. If there was, we wouldn't be in the situation we're in now.

The FACTS are, public spending HAS replaced private investment. The US Federal government is completely out of control, and the Greatest Recession can easily turn into the  end of Western Civilization as we know it.

We recognize the same symptom, youth employment. The problem is we've reached peak employment and boomers are hanging on.

The system can be tweaked to work. The problem is it's tweaked to work for the 1%, by politicians and bureaucrats who're beholden to the 1/10 of 1%.

We can't fix youth employment without fixing wealth disparity, and the rules we live under.

It requires wisdom and a knowledge of the truth of God's Word to know what is right and fair.

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6a, ESV) of God's Word. We're all gods, but there is only one true God, the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Without a knowledge of God's Word, we cannot set the world right, since there is also a Devil who is set on destroying what God created. Jesus Christ exposed his kingdom not quite two thousand years ago, and we are fighting the same enemy today.

Without a knowledge of God's Word, and the practical application of it, Wisdom, we're consigned to repeat the mistakes of history. So be it, and let the redeemed say, Amen!

TBird, amen, brother, there's always a token atheist in every forum. This one has at least two, Herr Stuck In the 20th Century, and Zara, who technically isn't an atheist, but may as well be.

Atheists also don't like it when you tell them Atheism is a religion. The sad and funny part of atheism is that, yes Virginia, there is a devil, and he would destroy those who serve him just as surely as he would destroy any part of God's creation.

It's also funny how sodomites, athiests, and trinitarians make up a small, but vocal minority of our society, yet are intent on telling everyone else how to live.

We live in a world 180 degrees off kilter. The only salvation is the truth of God's word, that is, if one is interested in being saved. A knowledge of the truth of God's Word is the only sure and safe refuge from the absolute insanity of this world.

"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15, ESV)

There is no truth in the world, only in the right handling of the truth of God's word.

It is a mess, what the masters of this world have devised against humanity. 2014 will prove a harsh reality, when resources become more scarce, competition increases, which will lead to an increase in crime, which we're already seeing as reported in the news. We also spend the most on incarceration.

So much for sustainable anything. Central planning and control at the federal level since the end of the civil war has led to a perverse misappropriation and misallocation of resources. Since the end of WWII, this has extended to US hegemony, to the end where there are 3 super powers, dividing the spoils among the elite. The devil couldn't have planned it any better.

If the ME doesn't erupt into civil war, the last best hope for the US will be to elect Tea Party activists and Occupy radicals to state and national office. That which isn't sustainable isn't, and it will be up to us, not the government, to pick up the pieces, since the last time I checked, seven levels of contracting tends to dilute the mission.

The last and most hilarious observation which could be made at this point, is that as bad as things can get on earth, and it can be hell, it's only a shadow of the spirit realm, and the Kingdom of the adversary must be a real cesspool.

The out of control federal bureaucracy would have done anything to maintain control during the Carter Administration. They certainly weren't above assassinating a POTUS.

It's (not) funny how Lincoln, the war criminal who gave us an all powerful federal state, and Kennedy bookend the rise of federal power. Lincoln was assassinated by those opposed to federal power, and Kennedy was assassinated by the shadow government.

We learned, too, in Vietnam, the media is not to be trusted. It's also (not funny), how slow Satan is to adapt his methods. I'm assuming there's poor communication within the chain of command, which is a good thing.

As far as Obama, the worst POTUS ever, and Reagan go. They've both given us stratuspheric deficits. I suppose it could be said Reagan spent it on expanding the US hegemony by securing the Western Hemisphere, and Bush/Obama on destroying it.

Apparently, the global prize is Iran. Neither Russia, China, or the US are content to let anyone else gain control of it. It's called stalemate, which could go on for decades. The west is forcing a civil war on the nation of Syria, for what, a few barrels of oil, a natural gas pipeline, global hegemony? What takes it's place in Syria, political instability along the order of Iraq and Egypt? The ME could easily erupt into nuclear war. Is it worth it?

The US dollar is done. The only way it can survive is at the point of a gun. Is it worth it?

The US is done. The only way the feds can survive is at the point of a gun, and they've shown the willingness to use it, and any other means, especially class and race warfare to keep US citizens divided.

The cold war, war on poverty, war on drugs, and the war on terrorism were all excuses to spend unfathomable sums of money. We're witnessing the end of this limitless spending. The feds will not retreat quietly.

The ACA is a last ditch effort to socialize the US into a two tier society, one which the feds control. I will not retreat quietly. The ACA is a comedy of errors, beginning with it's passage, which will destroy medical care and the labor market in the same way FNMA and FrM destroyed the housing market.

The line in the sand is November elections. I supported Ron Paul in 2010, and I will support the Tea Party in 2014.

Carter was the last POTUS to attempt to take on the feds. TPTB, the shadow government, third and fourth generation bureaucrats, will bring hell to bear at the slightest challenge. It's imperative that we elect libertarians in November 2014. The Dems and Repubs have failed to govern. We kicked the progressives out of control in North Carolina in 2012 and implemented lower taxes and less spending. The fight must be carried to the nation in 2014. Will the entrenched interests fight back? Then bring it on!

These are the entrenched interests in DC. The Mass Media only demonstrates what we all know, more cocaine is used in any one of NYC (Wall Street), DC (Feds and Pols), and Hollywood (Hollywood) than the combined consumption of the rest of the world.

It was somewhat interesting the anti-God messages contained in two otherwise decent movies we rented and watched recently, Killing Season (DeNiro, Travolta) and Star Trek Into Darkness.

These godless bureaucrats will shape America in their image, and the only ones standing in their way are you and I, and the love of God.

I'm convinced as we see our rights eroded under this and previous administrations, that it is only by the truth of God's word that we, man, will prevail in this world. Engineered events, including natural disasters since coinciding at the turn of the 21st century, are indicative of a super-natural enemy, and it is only be God's word that we who believe can hope to prevail. Droughts, rolling brown outs, Y2K, recessions, 9/11, GFC, Fukashima are all designed to steal, kill, and destroy God's word. The devil will not stop, there is no good in him, and those who serve him know not whom they serve, as he will destroy them as surely as he would destroy the remnant of God's people.

Stuck, I'm astounded by your disbelief of the truth. Why can't you just say, I don't believe God's word, and be done with it.

The bible wasn't written for those who don't believe.

You lost me at the first sentence. Of course the bible is not meant to be taken literally everywhere. It is meant to be taken literally where it is meant to be taken literally and figuratively where it is meant to be taken figuratively. You obviously have never heard of the idiom of permission, either.

If you don't know the difference, you have no business posting anything regarding the truth of god's word. You and Carl Sagan, too fucking smart for you're good.

The irony of it is, the tower of babel is a story about exactly what you've done, synthesize a theology based upon man's interpretation and understanding. Exactly what we're cautioned against, but since you don't believe God's word, neither are you bound by it. How fucking convenient.

Yes, there a few who rise through the ranks to become C level execs, and I don't begrudge anyone their success. LL's business is privately held, thus he isn't beholden to the global oligarchy, which is why his company will fail. The oligarchy have solved the problems of succession.

North American can survive independently of the global economy. It appears the battle being wage, and lost, is control over the fruits of production. When the national GDP funnels into the hands of a few, wealth disparity continues to increase to levels not seen since the 1920's. Everyone wanted to get on the band wagon, investing in stocks.

It remains to be seen whether QE to infinity will be enough to offset the dampening effect of the ACA. Once again, as with medicare, socializing the risk and privatizing the profit. It's been a business model which has worked with spectacular success thus far, until it doesn't.

LL's manufacturing business is a cog in an increasingly irrelevant system. He'll live and die, having provided for his family to the nth generation. Same for MA. Don't know about Stuck, he's a sea anemone. Admin isn't doing to bad, having saved a phenomenal percentage of his wages over the years. You guys are the exception, maybe 20% at the most are ready for a long term decline in the economy, and it's most likely going to get worse before it better. A lot worse. Whether it rises to the level of the destruction of the social order remains to be seen, as well. Continuity of government has certainly been addressed.

Correct, the issue before the Senate Judiciary Committee and addressed in S. 987: Free Flow of Information Act of 2013 defines who is a journalist and whether they can be compelled to throw anyone under the bus, which is essentially unconstitutional as I understand the First Amendment.

Those whore mongers in CONUS must know more and better than I do. Likewise, the purpose of the USCON being to provide protection of the people from the state. It only stands to reason a fascist police state would seek to refine or otherwise restrict those protections.

The entire proposition is preposterous, and only further evidence the federal government is completely out of control, propped up solely by the USD. Enjoy the ride, reversion to the mean is a bitch, and every day brings us closer to a day of reckoning, postponed only being QE to infinity.

The world is poised at the precipice of destruction, and the dawn of a new day of truly free information. One can cast themselves into the void, sit and stare at it, or move away from the edge. CONUS has chosen to sit and stare, after all, why not, and has given us this shit stained piece of legislation which can only be surpassed in meaninglessness by renaming post offices.

Why not throw money at every problem in existence, when the government is merely printing it digitally and has rendered work product meaningless? I would rather they mint a $100T coin, pay off the debt, pass a balanced budget amendment, eliminate the income tax, and bring the troops home. That last part may not be realistic. If we weren't running clandestine operations, the enemy would. It may also not be realistic to eliminate the income tax, however, the least the feds can do is hold those accountable who do harm, and even prevent it. Instead, we have a culture brought to us by those who would anoint themselves master, and who would tell us who is afforded constitutional rights, and who isn't.

I, too, will stand with Admin in the Halls of Anarchy. May God have mercy on our souls.

The Most Important Preparation You Can Make, by T.M.

Mr. Rawles,

Thank you for publishing T.M.'s letter. I agree with it's contents one hundred percent, with one exception. T.M. states,

"I do believe God manifested in flesh, came to Earth, lived a perfect life, died on the cross, and rose from the dead in order to make your salvation possible."

The first chapter of the Book of John in the Gospels says,

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1, ESV)

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14, ESV)

Clearly, the author, God, is speaking of his Son, when he says "the Word became flesh". It's an important distinction that Jesus is the Word made flesh. The greek word for "word" is logos, and it means the thoughts or ideas conveyed by the words expressed. The principle is that the Word makes known Jesus, who makes known the Father, and it is how we come to know God.

Chapter one of John is used to support the doctrine of the Trinity, which is a word that is not even used in scripture. It came about in the 3rd century as a compromise between paganism and Christianity, and it is where we get Sunday worship, the worship of the Sun god, Christmas at the Winter solstice, instead of September 11, 3 BC which is when there was a conjunction of 5 planets and is the sign the academic descendants of Joseph saw in Egypt and began their journey to Bethlehem, and Easter fertility rites, bunnies laying eggs.

Whether or not one believes or professes the doctrine of the trinity is not the purpose of my letter. It is simply to point out that we cannot change God's word, for it to still be God's word. I completely agree with the sentiment expressed by T.M. A belief and knowledge of God's Word is the most important preparation we can make in our lives, and even more so that we have an accurate understanding of his Word. 

"knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation." (2 Peter 1:20, ESV)

Education has to do with what are societies values. I laughed at someone's comment about inflation, and to think the feds have been "printing" money, borrowing and spending, in earnest since the Reagan Administration thirty years ago.

Nixon took us off the gold standard completely in 1972. Carter took office, and the feds took down the country, rather than allow the federal bureaucracy to be bridled. Granted, there was some external help from OPEC and Iran.

Education in this country, or Singapore, or anywhere else isn't the problem. The strangle hold of the global rent seeking oligarchy on the world's reserve currency is the problem, and the lack of jobs. We're all just useless breathers to the oligarchy.

The Devil is the god of this world (II Cor 4:4), and the only solution to fighting the enemy is with the truth of God's Word. Jesus Christ exposed the kingdom of the adversary, casting out demons and healing the sick. Before Christ, Israelis were required to obey the law to maintain spiritual cleanliness. With the advent of Christ and the day of Pentecost, we have the spirit of God in Christ in us, and everything Christ did, we can do and greater (Jn 14:12).

The dark ages succeeded the earthly reign of Christ after several hundred years and the fall of Rome, and indeed the light was gone out of the world. Christianity as practiced by all the major denominations today is a shell of the first century church, there is no difference in doctrine between any of them, primarily the doctrine of the trinity.

Burr listens to his campaign donors, which mostly includes special interests and corporations. MOST of Burr's constituents don't want Obama care or anything else to do with the status quo. Capitalism works for the 1%. Everyone else is pretty much on their own. DON'T insult my intelligence by suggesting Burr is anything but a status quo minion.
Hagan isn't much better, but she will buck the party line once in a while in support of her constituents. Burr? Never! However, he is rising in the party. Which is better for NC? November 2016 should be about sending representatives to Washington who aren't afraid to stand up to the status quo, the symptom of which is an out of control federal bureaucracy which can only survive, perhaps a little longer, by global domination.
However, you_all, Burr's actions in Washington aren't representative of his constituents, so don't pretend otherwise.

That is a blatant mis-characterization and misrepresentation of the facts. Did you expect the Governor to veto his parties legislation, particularly one giving him more flexibility in dealing with you, state employees?

I suppose if it doesn't suit you, then it's right wing extremism.

What is extreme, stupid, cruel and out of touch with most North Carolinians, are career state employees. Lack of accountability for tens of millions of dollars of waste annually is business as usual.

When state government cleans up it's act, and starts to behave responsibly with the tax payers $$, then I'll start worrying about whether the grievance process is too long or too short, and how many exempt positions there are.

I, for one, am tired of hearing state employees whine about how tough they have it. Most of the budget goes toward salaries, which yields a low ROI for taxpayers and a looming financial crisis for the State Health Plan.

There's no question there's no accountability in state government, from the top down. Getting elected and staying there is their only priority. Not what they're going to do when they get there.

The lack of accountability was exacerbated by the culture of corruption which permeated state government beginning with Bob Scott and ending with Bev Purdue.

Perhaps the best we can hope for from this legislature is a lack of corruption. We've seen the national influence of party politics on both sides. I would like to see North Carolina distance itself from those agendas. The GA scored big this legislative session with a number of critically important issues. The fight is not over, and the biggest seems to countering an out of control federal bureaucracy, one that has damaged the housing market causing the Global Financial Crisis and now seems poised to damage the labor market even further.

Maybe the merger will accomplish one goal of having to reign in only one monopoly.

Duke will make up it's margin by providing a lower level of customer service, but two can play that game.

I suppose a compromise is in order, from experience, however, contractors are real specific about how much money they get, and fudge the details about what they'll provide in return.

I'm a little surprised no one else has commented. Perhaps the Moral Monday crowd is resting up for next years legislative session to see if they can get some of their funding restored.

The labor market is going to follow the housing market in early 2014, which has a ripple effect on SS and tax revenues for the feds. The deficit and accompanying debt will grind the global economy to a halt.

The question is when will Obama declare martial law in order to remain in office. It’s almost guaranteed he will, since public pensions will become worthless when the dollar collapses.

All of America will be on one health care and retirement plan, while CONUS, POTUS, and SCOTUS will have their own separate plans.

Then the gig will be up, and the farce of the US federal government will be realized.

YEAH – THEY’RE WORKING FOR YOU « The Burning Platform

History teaches us what has happened in the past. Never before in the history of man has so much information been available to so many people. We have the internet, the modern tower of babel. The original tower was a planetarium, although I'm not sure how that would enable the dawn of civilization to "be able to do anything" or why the devil was allowed to cause them to lose their ability to understand one another, the idiom of permission. The printing press brought about the protestant revolution by putting God's Word in the hand of every man.

People will generally do what is right. The difficulty is they don't know what is right, and when they are told, they're disobedient. We have the example of the people of Israel. I expect no different from this generation, so I tend to agree we are in for a shit storm. However, hope resides in the knowledge of God and the truth of his word. We cannot destroy the Devil, but we can destroy his works,

"The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil." (1 John 3:8b, ESV)

Jesus Christ exposed the kingdom of the Devil. He cast out devil spirits, and they adapted their ways. Prior to Christ, the Israelites were required to ceremonially wash their pots and pans, and not eat certain things to maintain the spiritual purity of the household. We live under the law of grace, not the law of sin, so that any man can come to God through the sacrifice of his son, Jesus Christ.

Wickedness has always been in the world. The 20th century was a century of war. Technology has enabled warfare to reach the point where there are three super powers. We don't have any influence in those countries, but we can influence the US. Right now, the US is collaborating with China and Russia to divide up the spoils of the world, retaining power while subjugating their people. It requires the destruction of the american people, and perhaps rightly so, given our carbon footprint. We can look to the people of Russia, or China and understand that no American would trade the freedom they have today for residence in either of those countries. Russia is a thugocracy, and China is a party run slave state. We're closer to China than to Russia's politics, since the fall of the soviet union. It should be noted that central planning doesn't work, anywhere, where decentralization is key to free market economies. This is not laissez faire, but leveling the playing field. The opposite of what occurred under Clinton/Bush.

While we can't control what happens elsewhere in the world, we can influence politics here. The tea party has the most effective strategy, thus far. One can read their core beliefs at http://www.teaparty.org/about-us/ and except for a few minor points, who would disagree except those committed to the destruction of the country, and apparently rebuilding it in their image? Is our struggle simply one of cultural identity? No, because what the US stood for is individual freedom. This is being replaced by a fascist state before our very eyes, underlining the critical necessity of electing freedom minded candidates who will uphold the constitutional rights of individuals and stand against the tyranny of the federal bureaucracy. It is either the destruction of this bureaucracy or the destruction of the american people. We cannot co-exist.

I've got news for the teachers of North Carolina and anyone else working outside the beltline, these two salaries are business as usual. If we cut 20% of the budget and cut all services to the citizens of the state, then we can start talking about where the other 80% of the budget is being spent. The boomers are hanging on to their public sector jobs as long as they can, then they'll fight to the death to protect their pensions. That's what Governor McCrory is up against in Raleigh. He didn't cause it.

I would like the GA to consider legislation to prohibit one penny of the general fund to be spent on retiree health care. Up until 2006, state employees only needed to work 5 years to get free health care when they turn 65 or retire. Guess what happens when these boomers start turning 65? It is an insurance plan. It should be self sustaining and revenue neutral. If the previous generation screwed up, and it appears they most certainly did, how do we fix it? Tax neo-liberals? No, they would rather spend other peoples money. The General Assembly did the right thing this year by cutting taxes and spending to put the state on sound financial footing.

The federal bureaucracy is too far gone to save. We need to repeal ObamaCare, but instead we're going to get a government shutdown. January 2014 is when the job market goes the way of the housing market, after that, the dollar will collapse as our debt driven consumer economy can expand no further. I don't expect we'll make it through next summer without civil unrest and turmoil, the likes which haven't been seen since the last Great Depression.That's why DHS is staging military gear and equipment around the country. It isn't to provide relief to 280 million Americans, it's to implement martial law. Then we'll see neo-liberalism and neo-feudalism were the same thing, and begin asking ourselves, how do we break the bonds of oppression. The answer today is the Tea Party and the Occupy Movement. November 2014 will be a critical election to get free thinking candidates elected to office who aren't too afraid to stand up to the status quo. The left and the right, have a common enemy, it's the status quo, and it doesn't care who's in power. They've got their bases covered in both parties. Status quo should be challenged at both the state and federal levels, because the current status is unsustainable.

I suppose, at some level, CONUS makes the appearance of attempting to do the right thing. Who am I kidding? No they don’t! The Great Financial Crisis was the result of the secondary mortgage market underwriting loans that should never have been made, distorting the housing market, and enriching originators and Wall Street.

Nothing has been fixed except wealth disparity continues to increase.

Admin makes the same point by stating the price of oil doesn’t impact the .1%, the global elite, nor the 1% who are beholden to them, except it makes their job of squeezing every last vestige of wealth out of our society and transferring it to themselves harder.

My point to you, Stucky, is there’s another force at work, and it’s not God, it’s Satan. Unless and until you recognize the source of the problem, then any attempts rectify it will be ineffective.

Our economic, social, and political systems could work for the benefit of all, but they don’t. Greed has all but guaranteed it’s collapse. It’s what comes after that should be of concern. This system is broken, and will eventually fail given it’s current trajectory. 20 years for the demographics to cause it to fail, a lot less time given the various catalysts at work. We may or may not be past the point of no return, probably not given that any number of black, white, or grey swans are in abeyance until such time that they are needed. A war in the ME would certainly act as a distraction should global finances reach another precipice. In the meantime, the transfer of wealth to the .1% will continue unabated until diminishing returns force a pause.

The other side of this argument, the economic system which the .1% envision doesn’t support a world population anywhere near where we are now.

Where does all of this leave us? If you don’t know or recognize who is the enemy, it’s impossible to defend against or form a counter-offensive.

The global elite aren’t concerned about the price of gas, until they are, then something will be done and not until then. All of the posts, comments, likes and dislikes on this site, notwithstanding.

And just for the record, when Jesus Christ was confronted by the Devil in the wilderness, he didn’t reply with sarcasm or wit, he replied, “It is written”

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7 ESV).

That isn’t bible thumping, it’s a simple statement of the only thing that will be effective in the global fight against tyranny in which we find ourselves. It’s not only enough to believe, but also to act. Taking believing action, and standing fast on the principles and precepts that are in God’s Word are the only counter measure to the wickedness and perverseness that is in the world.

This country was founded on Christian principles, it has taken not quite 275 years to set it on a course of destruction, less than 150 years since the American Civil War.

Lincoln was a lobbyist for the rail road monopolists, who became the industrialists of the turn of the 20th century. CONUS and POTUS buy votes with socialist programs, and SCOTUS seems determined to play along.

I honestly don’t know what else to do except to have faith in God and his power. If anyone has any better suggestions, let’s hear it.

LL, horsefuckingshit, Capitalism is NOT a pure system, anymore than are free markets.

Capitalism is all about the exploitation of markets and resources. Governance is required to hold business accountable for everything they fuck up, i.e. the environment, people's health, etc.

It's only too bad government failed in their oversight responsibility, and became accomplices.

We will have a choice after a day of reckoning, a society modeled on individual freedom as the founders intended, or a police state. It should be a simple choice; police state = central planning = slavery; decentralization = free markets = accountability = liberty. We know who is in control now. What remains to be seen is how long they can maintain it.

I find it disturbingly interesting that the British liberals, Labour, were pursuing the same criminal politics as the Frank/Pelosi, et al.

Probably playing catch up when it was realized THIS IS THE BIG ONE! Never in history has a bubble the size of the Great Financial Crisis been concocted, with duplicity occurring unanimously across the spectrum of TPTB, and nothing has been done to reign in the excess. Wealth disparity continues to exponentially increase. When the big taper takes effect, wealth disparity will continue to increase. Offshore trillions will insure it.

What the fuck, is about all I can say. 47% of working age adults employed? Unemployment at a rate not seen since the height of the Depression? Boomers that can't retire and won't free up entry level jobs for 20 somethings? Our society gave up a lot for these boomers. It was a poor investment.

Obama seems poised to finish what Reagan/Bush/Cheney started, the destruction of the American Middle Class. This isn't going to end well. It's also worthwhile to point out the DemocRats were in control of at least one house of CONUS since the end of WWII, when deficits began rising, culminating in Reagan, who, while a proponent of less government, actually allowed spending to increase unrestrained.

Carter was the last, best POTUS this country elected. Ron Paul was an opportunity to have pass the mantle. I weep for my country and fellow man. Not that they deserve much better. No one was forced to draw welfare for generations, or unemployment for years, or disability for life.

Pay people to have kids, what do they do? Pay them not to work...

What difference does it make to the federal bureaucracy, whence the root of it all lies? Government spending has increased more than the rate of inflation, my guess, probably a lot more every year. What good has any of it done? We're basically paying our politicians to sell us out to special interests.

The history of civilization is one of conquest and oppression. Logistically, it's been difficult to control large numbers of people. Cain, the first murderer, was the first person in the ancient world to build cities, in order to better control people.

There is a chief conspirator, the old serpent, the Devil. He is the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4). It is only by the Word of God Almighty, maker of Heaven and Earth, and all that is in them, the God and Father of the Lord, Jesus Christ, that we might be saved.

There is no other hope for salvation on earth. If it was within man to save himself, then Jesus Christ need not have died on the Christ.

If anyone can see another way out of this mess, I would like to hear it. If God isn't going to save us, then we would be better off taking matters into our hands, and rise up against the corporate fascism of the global elite. Civil unrest is what occurs when the pacification (Free Shit) programs fail.  We could have saved 50 years of grief if LBJ never got us into Vietnam, expanded the welfare state, and if the USCON had not enacted medicare, thereby hiding the real cost of health care in the federal deficit.

Instead we have 70 years of exponentially increasing deficits since the end of WWII, and we are on the vertical leading edge. Public borrowing and spending has replaced private investment, and we learn some maniacal 3 star army general has been running the NSA for 8 years and wants the entire internet under NSA control. Why? I'm assuming the operative word is control.

Perhaps if we had better control of the federal bureaucracy, we wouldn't have all of these other problems, or better control of our borders, or better control over spending.

Who believes we can't stop illegal immigration and drugs from coming into the country, given the level of the police state control we've seen since Sept 11, 2001?

Declaring war is an excuse to spend unfathomable sums of money on something, the Cold War, Poverty, Drugs, Terrorism. Tax and spend socialists became borrow and spend fascists. Let them come for me and God will be my judge!
