Attention: Deficit Disorder and the Real Crisis Ahead « naked capitalism

MMT is a utopian vision. Keynes is all we needed, yet government didn't contract during periods of prosperity. Therein lies the rub.

The FACTS are, expanding and contracting the money supply accomplishes little if their is no public spending constraint. If there was, we wouldn't be in the situation we're in now.

The FACTS are, public spending HAS replaced private investment. The US Federal government is completely out of control, and the Greatest Recession can easily turn into the  end of Western Civilization as we know it.

We recognize the same symptom, youth employment. The problem is we've reached peak employment and boomers are hanging on.

The system can be tweaked to work. The problem is it's tweaked to work for the 1%, by politicians and bureaucrats who're beholden to the 1/10 of 1%.

We can't fix youth employment without fixing wealth disparity, and the rules we live under.

It requires wisdom and a knowledge of the truth of God's Word to know what is right and fair.

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6a, ESV) of God's Word. We're all gods, but there is only one true God, the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Without a knowledge of God's Word, we cannot set the world right, since there is also a Devil who is set on destroying what God created. Jesus Christ exposed his kingdom not quite two thousand years ago, and we are fighting the same enemy today.

Without a knowledge of God's Word, and the practical application of it, Wisdom, we're consigned to repeat the mistakes of history. So be it, and let the redeemed say, Amen!

TE, it's not for the children, it's for the boomers, who never grew up.

TBird, amen, brother, there's always a token atheist in every forum. This one has at least two, Herr Stuck In the 20th Century, and Zara, who technically isn't an atheist, but may as well be.

Atheists also don't like it when you tell them Atheism is a religion. The sad and funny part of atheism is that, yes Virginia, there is a devil, and he would destroy those who serve him just as surely as he would destroy any part of God's creation.

It's also funny how sodomites, athiests, and trinitarians make up a small, but vocal minority of our society, yet are intent on telling everyone else how to live.

We live in a world 180 degrees off kilter. The only salvation is the truth of God's word, that is, if one is interested in being saved. A knowledge of the truth of God's Word is the only sure and safe refuge from the absolute insanity of this world.

"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15, ESV)

There is no truth in the world, only in the right handling of the truth of God's word.

It is a mess, what the masters of this world have devised against humanity. 2014 will prove a harsh reality, when resources become more scarce, competition increases, which will lead to an increase in crime, which we're already seeing as reported in the news. We also spend the most on incarceration.

So much for sustainable anything. Central planning and control at the federal level since the end of the civil war has led to a perverse misappropriation and misallocation of resources. Since the end of WWII, this has extended to US hegemony, to the end where there are 3 super powers, dividing the spoils among the elite. The devil couldn't have planned it any better.

If the ME doesn't erupt into civil war, the last best hope for the US will be to elect Tea Party activists and Occupy radicals to state and national office. That which isn't sustainable isn't, and it will be up to us, not the government, to pick up the pieces, since the last time I checked, seven levels of contracting tends to dilute the mission.

The last and most hilarious observation which could be made at this point, is that as bad as things can get on earth, and it can be hell, it's only a shadow of the spirit realm, and the Kingdom of the adversary must be a real cesspool.

Coffee break is over, time for work.

The out of control federal bureaucracy would have done anything to maintain control during the Carter Administration. They certainly weren't above assassinating a POTUS.

It's (not) funny how Lincoln, the war criminal who gave us an all powerful federal state, and Kennedy bookend the rise of federal power. Lincoln was assassinated by those opposed to federal power, and Kennedy was assassinated by the shadow government.

We learned, too, in Vietnam, the media is not to be trusted. It's also (not funny), how slow Satan is to adapt his methods. I'm assuming there's poor communication within the chain of command, which is a good thing.

As far as Obama, the worst POTUS ever, and Reagan go. They've both given us stratuspheric deficits. I suppose it could be said Reagan spent it on expanding the US hegemony by securing the Western Hemisphere, and Bush/Obama on destroying it.

Apparently, the global prize is Iran. Neither Russia, China, or the US are content to let anyone else gain control of it. It's called stalemate, which could go on for decades. The west is forcing a civil war on the nation of Syria, for what, a few barrels of oil, a natural gas pipeline, global hegemony? What takes it's place in Syria, political instability along the order of Iraq and Egypt? The ME could easily erupt into nuclear war. Is it worth it?

The US dollar is done. The only way it can survive is at the point of a gun. Is it worth it?

The US is done. The only way the feds can survive is at the point of a gun, and they've shown the willingness to use it, and any other means, especially class and race warfare to keep US citizens divided.

The cold war, war on poverty, war on drugs, and the war on terrorism were all excuses to spend unfathomable sums of money. We're witnessing the end of this limitless spending. The feds will not retreat quietly.

The ACA is a last ditch effort to socialize the US into a two tier society, one which the feds control. I will not retreat quietly. The ACA is a comedy of errors, beginning with it's passage, which will destroy medical care and the labor market in the same way FNMA and FrM destroyed the housing market.

The line in the sand is November elections. I supported Ron Paul in 2010, and I will support the Tea Party in 2014.

God bless America!

For the MSM not to support Obamacare would require questioning everything they believe.

There are those who continue to point out the absurdity of the US Debt. When will the merry-go-round stop, who knows? In the meantime, those at the top continue to siphon off more than their share and the ACA has done to the health care industry and the labor market what the secondary mortgage market and Wall Street did to the housing market.

Thanks to SCOTUS, health insurance premiums are a tax that can be collected by the IRS and wage garnishment. What the financiers don’t get from interest on the debt, health insurance companies will get on your death bed. The Devil couldn’t have planned it any better.
