WHAT PART OF “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED” DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND? « The Burning Platform

Liberals are an interesting lot, they know what's best for everyone. If they don't think people should carry guns, they shouldn't carry them.

I, for one, will keep and bear arms to defend myself, my family, and the freedom which God grants every human being and which is guaranteed to all by the constitution under which this country was founded.

My fore bearers came to this country before the revolutionary war settling in an area granted to them by the King of England. The colonies cast off the yoke of bondage once. They can do it again.

The history of civilization is one of conquest and man's rising up against oppression, yet it is not a mere telling of places, dates and events. It is the greatest story of all, of God making himself known to man, and yes, there is a higher law than man's laws.

To be continued...

Bruce, your'e correct. Left and right, blue and red blame each other for their own screw ups, which is the only way to describe the current state of the state. I know Admin likes the fourth turning, but we are where we are at any one point in time. Swimming upstream is still an option, just look at the salmon.

Neither party is willing to admit any wrong doing, or accept any responsibility for their actions, when both parties are equally responsible. It's easier to blame the other side.

I've seen the feds confiscate a lot of money from people who worked hard to earn it, only to later change the laws because it was unusually harsh. I'm not sure where the line is, when the feds steal from innocent people, and then borrow an additional 30 cents on the dollar, compounding the theft by stealing from whomever has to pay it back.

Perhaps the monstrosity that has become our federal government is only a reflection of our society, rather it has become a means unto itself, seeking only to propagate itself and has evolved into a stench that even light will soon no longer be able to escape.

It is only a free and freedom loving people that can put down the rabies ridden carcass our federal government has become, and excise the putrid flesh from it's corpse. The fiscal cliff would be a blessing, so will not raising the cap on the debt ceiling.

I will raise my flag, and raise it high. Let's return to the constitutional representative republic which our forefathers envisioned, and cast the scoundrels in the federal bureaucracy out on their rear ends, and begin amending these outrageous and grotesquely hideous pension benefits which the USCON voted for themselves to begin public pension reform across the country, and crawl out from under the boot of government on the neck of it's citizens.

That is why I keep and bear arms, and will exercise my right to free speech. We used to have a saying in the military, "fuck the world", well, we had a lot of sayings. I'm amending this one in particular to "fuck the government". Those arrogant little pricks are going to prove to be their own undoing, and then we can see what 63.8 square miles of swamp land on the Potomac will bring on the free and open market.

I'll say it here, Lincoln was a lobbyist for the railroads before he became POTUS, who were the original robber barons and controlled an iron fisted monopoly until they were replaced by the industrialists at the turn of the century. Anyone who thinks the federal government is about anything other than their own power is only deluding themselves.

I will also suggest this, that if it was within man to save himself, then Jesus Christ would need not have died on the cross. Rather, it is God Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and all that is in them, the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ who provides salvation to man. It is not man who provides it.

With that, I will leave you with a quote from Galatians,

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23 ESV)

Zara, JFK was killed by Israel? How was it he and Bobby were threatening them?

It couldn’t have been the mob, could it?

Everybody knows the mob are Italian. Sorta blows a whole in your little theory. Zara, the one trick pony doesn’t even have a alibi. You can call me a christian zionist if you like, it’s your privilege to cast dispersions. Even so, I’m not buying it, or your quaint dispersions of truth. You should take Job’s wife’s advice, just curse God and die already.

You do have an interesting perspective on global geopolitics. Too bad it just doesn’t hold any water. Tell me why you hate Israel so much. Even if all of your claims against Israel are valid, they’re rather insignificant compared to everything else going on in the world. Or is there some special significance to the 22K sq KM in the ME called the state of Israel? If so, why? The very fact that you’ve placed such significance on something relatively insignificant betrays your motive, namely, that you’re a run of the mill anti-Semite. My only question is why? Even though I don’t expect an answer, god haters are generally void of any sound reason.

Have a nice day, except I also don’t expect you to take my advice. Try Job’s wife’s, and get back with me.

"I don’t think we’d even be having this debate were it not for the economic disaster that occurred."

Bull crap! This debate was inevitable as soon as Reagan lit the torch on deficit spending and each succeeding presidency has been progressively worse.

The economic disaster was inevitable, albeit avoidable. Deficit spending is the mechanism by which wealth inequality has increased, which may lead to our downfall.

We would be in this mess with or without BB. The civil rights movement and war protests were child's play compared to what may become necessary to fight back against a police state. It would only be ironic justice to see the boomers go out in the same manner in which they came in, with the world embroiled in world war. They did nothing and contributed nothing to making the world a better place. Neither has any other generation. We're only floating in a sea, tossed about by wind and wave. To put it in a spiritual perspective, what is seen is only a shadow of what is real. Hopefully, the seas will calm, or, they may not. What can one do except ride out the storm? Blaming your fellow passengers won't make the storm any more or less furious. Neither is the Titanic a good analogy. We have much less control over our destiny than to consider we either manufactured our ship or captain it. Let go and let God, and perhaps mercy may be bestowed upon us. The nation of Israel is a better analogy for our predicament, besieged on every side by an enemy sworn to our destruction. In fact, this analogy resonates a great deal further, considering who are the enemies of the state. In the geo-political reality which we face as a nation, one can only pray for peace in our lifetimes, and to be unmolested in the pursuit of happiness. It is the latter for which we find ourselves embroiled in battle.

I don't agree that conservatism is the right answer, but I like this message, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuCaWYvpVZg

WAS JESUS GETTING SOME? « The Burning Platform

Stuck, you're entitled to your opinion, just as you are entitled to be wrong.

I have two thousand years of human history on my side, and the Israeli's eigth thousand before that.

If you don't believe, that's your priviledge. Ten thousand years of human history say otherwise. It must be nice to live in a cacoon of ignorance.

Even Jesus prayed that if there was any other way, that he might be spared. He prayed this three times before he was arrested,

"And going a little farther, he fell on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
(Mark 14:35-36 ESV)

It is each person's choice to believe in the name of Jesus Christ. I can only speak of the difference God has made in my life. He can and will do the same for anyone seeking Him,

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
(Matthew 7:7-8 ESV)

I don't know when Christ will return, no one does except God.

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”
(Revelation 3:20-22 ESV)

It is better to know with a certainty the difference between truth, and a lie. Otherwise, as a race we would be doomed to imprisonment. Our adversary, the devil has already tried extinction in Noah's time, anything to kill the Christ line, first told in Genesis,

"I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring;
he shall bruise your head,
and you shall bruise his heel.”
(Genesis 3:15 ESV)

After crucifying Christ, innocent blood, it appears he will make every attempt to enslave the population of the world.

We don't know what the future brings, only what is foretold in God's Word and it is up to you and I to carry forward the message of hope and deliverance, neither of which is being offered by either candidate running for the POTUS, who offer only more of the same bankster enslavement of our nation. If I was the devil, I don't think I could have done a better job of it.

WAS JESUS GETTING SOME? « The Burning Platform

Herr Stuck, we've been over this already. Of course Joseph fucked Mary. Yet, to expound upon certain points, which will be the last word, because each word will be scripturally based, if you care, and I'm not sure that you do, but in the event someone reading this may glean some truth from it, here goes,

The angel appearing unto Joseph when he was considering putting her away privately, instead of having her stoned, which would have been his right, the angel said, "take unto you your wife," meaning to consumate his marriage with her. This was after she conceived the Son of God by the Holy Spirit.

Secondly, the description of Mary is she had not known a man in the biblical sense to the point of conception. Yes, she had sex with Joseph, but the conception of the Son of God was by divine intervention.

Lastly, Jesus was said to have brothers and sisters, so, in all liklihood, Joseph and Mary had a relationship as man and wife, resulting in a family. They were also quite wealthy, considering all of the gifts bestowed upon them by the wise men of the east. But, that is a discussion for another time.

The only book, Stuckey, which I'm interested in by way of proof of anything, is the Word of God, as revealed to his Holy Saints and testified unto you this day. Grace and Peace be unto you all, in the glorious name of the risen Christ, the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ.

Oh, and to the OP, did Jesus get any nooky, it's likely he did not, because it's equally unlikely he married.

It's also interesting this "revelation" comes so closely on the heels of the archeologist in Jerusalem who claims to have found Jesus' tomb. Our adversary, the Devil, must be feeling a bit of heat in his zeal to drive the nations toward Armegeddon. Spoiler alert, he fails, not is his zeal, but in his stated ambition of destroying the Word of God, and ruling over his creation.

We would all do well to heed the admonition of the Lord.

We’re all in this together: The Truth About Federal entitlement spending « The Progressive Pulse

The rights which the US Constitution upholds are inalienable, so there is is need for review bodies or General Opinions, only enforcement of existing law, which, if a nation is in violation, there's nothing to prevent them from violating any other laws, no matter who upholds them.

The discussion of entitlements, i.e. pensions, welfare, food stamps, and health care; or human rights, as you call them, are mutually independent and are separate discussions, so there is a distinction between entitlements and rights, contrary to what you may think in your country, probably a police state, which is where the US is headed, undoubtedly to your delight.

Even if the feds seize the pension funds, and mandate Social Security and Medicare for all, it won’t include the USCON, or the elite who will have their own health care and retirement plans, perhaps with a lot fewer of us around.

I just don’t see it boding well for anyone planning a two tier pension and health care system. It won’t work, the top tier will essentially suck up all the resources and leave nothing to the second. I suppose that’s where the police state comes in, which essentially means a lot less of us and them, and they’re outnumbered, hence the deception and deceit.

Comrade, how do you expect a nation which breaks it's own laws to adhere to any declaration of rights?

The only "limitations" to entitlements is the sponsoring states ability to pay. We see the history of the soviet republic and the genocide of an entire generation by starvation.

Depopulation would be one solution to meeting the states duties under universal norms, i.e. there aren't enough resources to go around, then how does one ration them? Does the state decide, i.e. central planning, which leads to inefficient allocation of resources, or allow a market based system of distribution?

The problem with the socialist and capitalist models, as currently managed by the various nation states, is both lead to wealth inequality, which is, what ultimately needs to be addressed.

We’re all in this together: The Truth About Federal entitlement spending « The Progressive Pulse

One might be surprised at how quickly these "poor" and "disabled" will get off their couches and take to the streets when their "entitlements" quit coming because the government has lost the ability to borrow and spend.

That's where our entitlement society is headed. Allen, since you feel so strongly about it, I'm sure you won't mind paying twice the amount of taxes you're paying now, to pay for those who don't work. Because that is also where we're headed.

If the national debt was paid off, and a balanced budget instituted, then we wouldn't be having this discussion, because disability and welfare would be reserved for the most pitiful cases, as it once was.

Newsflash for Allen, one can only borrow and spend until you can't. Then what happens to the poor and disabled. Indeed, what will become of any of us. But, I can sleep better at night, knowing that you, Allen, have the best interests of all at heart. You may send your tax payments to the nearest tax revenue office. Have a nice day!

Bailing out the states, just another unfunded, off the books, unanticipated(?) expense which will leave the US high and dry.

I'm with Hope on this one, what're the feds going to do when all fifty states secede, or call a constitutional convention? The trouble is, what then?

We could tweak the system to become more manageable and sustainable, and could have done so at any time since the end of WWII. It was tweaked, alright, to the advantage of the financiers and industrialists, the same parties which caused the first depression. To the point the economy is out of control, which Bernanke just admitted with his open ended purchase of toxic assets, totaling total $15T, further bailing out the financiers, and further worsening the circumstances which caused the imbalance in the first place, namely wealth inequality.

How does one address the issue of wealth inequality? It isn't going to matter at some point. Thankfully, we have a savior in Christ Jesus, because God knows, there's little that can be done to avoid the consequences of mal-investment caused by the feds policies. What are the banks going to do with $40B a month into the foreseeable future. Buy treasuries? This should be interesting.

Jesus may have been on to something,

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money." (Matthew 6:24 ESV)

Bernanke would have done well to heed to the teachings that were available two thousand years ago, so he has no excuse.

SS has already hit the red, I don’t know about medicare, and all of the other unfunded entitlements. The national deficit is about to reach critical mass and go nuclear, hence the automatic budget cuts that will take effect in 2013. The federal bureaucracy is not prepared to do more with less, and there will be severe withdrawal pains.

The cake is baked. It matters who wins the election because the Obama administration will only reward those who don’t work, and prolong the recession. Romney may not do any better, but he can’t do any worse.

What will return the US to competitiveness is cutting spending and cutting taxes, plain and simple. Bowles and Simpson understand this. I’m hoping that Mitt Romney has enough sense, if elected, to select Erskine Bowles as the new Treasury Secretary. His name has been mentioned, but I don’t know in what context, because if it’s unreasonable for Romney to select him, then the discussion would have assumed Obama will win in November. Maybe the fix is already in, as well as the cake.

However, all of this discussion about the FSA voting themselves more stuff is a farce. By the time the 1% are done with this economy, there isn’t going to be anything left.

BERNANKE IS IN PANIC MODE « The Burning Platform

Bruce, you left out this gives the 1% more time to loot and secure their fortresses, replete with provisions and armed security. The police state apparatus will also have more time to prepare buying hardware.

The less fortunate have more time to prepare, as you mentioned, although surviving The Crunch is going to be difficult. The oligarchy is the only winner of QE3.

There are only two end game scenarios for the Fed's QE to infinity, government cuts it's deficits which allows private investment to flourish or everyone either works for the government or is supported by them. Since it isn't structurally possible for the feds to cut spending, then government of, for and by the people will become, the government is the people. Not that it's such a bad idea in theory. The difficulty is in getting anyone to do any work, but I suppose there are those who will work for the sake of it. Don't expect to much in the way of superlative effort, except the C level execs and politics.

As we transition to this state run society, how do we get everyone on the government payroll that is currently doing work in the private sector? According to Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_the_United_States#Employment

8% of those employed are in public sector jobs, not counting the percent of employees working for public sector vendors.

Also, from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_spending#United_States_of_America

In 2010, public sector spending was 42% of GDP at $6.134 trillion whereas in 2001 it was $2.293 trillion, or slightly less than 20% of the GDP.

So, while we're headed in the right direction as percent of GDP, which will tend toward 100%, but we know the employment numbers haven't improved, but are worse.

As we pursue this policy of government is the people, which we've been hearing from the left for some time, culminating in this year's DNC, we have to wonder, again, how do we improve the employment numbers? It's the same wealth disparity issue as the crony capitalist model. The crony socialist model tends to aggregate wealth at the very top. So, we really can't address employment without addressing wealth disparity, not by creating more of it by destroying the middle class, but by a tax code which only allows a personal deduction and that's it. A wealth tax can also be instated, not to exceed an amount equal to a percentage of a reasonable ROI, so as not to be confiscatory, but neither allow hoarding.

If we can't cut federal spending, then it will consume us. I think that's a given. Whether it destroys us, or not, is another matter. The societal issues can be handled by addressing wealth disparity, which is a must in any event, or we can get out the pitch forks now, and not allow the natural course of events to work in favor of a tyranny.

LIBYAN DEMOCRATIC SUCCESS STORY « The Burning Platform

The attacks yesterday were carefully orchestrated, and demonstrate the US failure in the War on Terror. But, then, there never really was any war on terror, only an excuse to spend vast sums of money. The same for the wars on Poverty and Drugs, these being preceded by the Cold War.

Fiat currency failed in the nineteen thirties, and it was only after a World War and the US Treasury Note becoming the world’s reserve currency that the US came back from the Great Depression. There is no event on the horizon that will rescue the sovereign nations of the earth from the bankers, no new caches of natural resources, no new world’s to conquer. When the US bailed out the bankers in 2008, it sealed the fate of the USD.

When the dollar fails, at least we won’t need to be concerned about how to pay for $200T in unfunded federal liabilities. That will be the least of our worries, while we try to feed ourselves with GM crops, the seeds of which are patented and enforced by the same US government purchasing billions of rounds of small arms ammunition, and labeling constitutionalists as terrorists.

US Foreign Policy in Libya isn’t a failure, it successfully further entrenches the need for the out of control federal bureaucracy to go even further to erode the civil liberties of US Citizens in the name of security.

The US created the very terrorist organizations with whom it now purports to be at war. Epic fail? No, epic win, if you’re Charlie Sheen.

CHART OF DOOM « The Burning Platform

The Great Society was a failure from the sixties until today. When you pay people to have babies, even under the most abhorrent conditions, like the 30 blocks of squalor, they have babies.

What do they do if you pay them to not work? So having shot ourselves in both feet, now we’re aiming for the knee caps with Obama Care and SNAP. Another generation of dependent degenerates.

The Apostle Paul commanded the churches,

“For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.  For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 (ESV)

God would not have commanded anyone to do something which they are unable to do. It seems at most, that they were unwilling. Pity that. It seems, too, human nature hasn’t changed all that much in two thousand years.

CRAZY SURVIVALISTS « The Burning Platform

HZK, the stock market can crash, that's about it. Bernanke cranks up the presses. He can keep playing that game until the dollar collapes, and then we're into trade politics. It doesn't suck being the 500# gorilla on the block. It only sucks being an american citizen with an out of control federal government, which is what got us here, the latest chapter beginning with the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.

I use the LA Riots and post-Katrina NO as examples of what can go wrong. Most people don't understand the LA Riots spread up and down the West Coast as far north as Tacoma, WA by the disaffected.

The Zimmeran case is a good example of the racial tensions that could get turned up in a hurry. It  almost seems like it was a test case used by the feds. There's no doubt we're in a pressure cooker cooker when minorities feel the brunt of any recession, and this latest being the worst since race entered the national dialogue.

The feds are still the wild card, and will remain out of control until the natural course of fiat money takes it's course. America will be full of Rawlesian Redoubts. It only takes a group of like minded individuals to begin and it only took a few Korean shop owners with small arms weapons to keep the looters out of their stores in LA. It's no wonder the feds would like nothing more than getting small arms out of the hands of Americans.

I talk to people all the time about beans and bullets. They're generally interested, but not willing to do a whole lot. However, it doesn't take much to store up a few basics. Then you realize self sufficiency is a lifestyle, and you begin to understand it won't be the disaffected or the FSA that will inherit the earth, it will be those most prepared for the inevitable firestorms of social upheaval we will be facing as unfunded federal entitlements meet fiscal reality which meets the global banksters. I don't worry about OPSEC so much as I care about talking to as many people as possible about current events and the political process, where we were founded as a country of, for and by the people, and if we don't want to see it become a police state, we are the ones who are going to have to see to it that it doesn't become one.

FUN WITH UNEMPLOYMENT « The Burning Platform

We're in an inflationary depression, and the government cooks the books to deny it. The unemployment numbers don't lie, neither does the inflation rate.

Hold on to your hats, ladies and gentlemen, we're in for a bumpy ride! By "hold on to your hats", I mean,

- get a gun and learn to use it, the NRA teaches personal protection classes. Get a concealed carry permit if your state allows it. Currently, Illinois is the only state which denies the right to bear arms.

- stock up on food and water. Check the expiration dates of foods you normally buy every day. They're usually good for six months or more. That means you can store six months worth of food you already use every day. Of course it helps to be able to cook. Look into camp stoves and pressure cookers. I leave that up to my wife, but I could do it if I had to do it, I think.

- buy physical precious metals

- buy barter items

Thoughts on Taxes « The Burning Platform

Hmm, taxes, just as screwed up as everything else the feds have attempted, by design, except the war machine. There is where central planning excels. Everywhere else, dealing with people who are under no requirement to obey even the simplest orders, order breaks down into disorder, and here we are.

It sucks, but those supposedly in charge aren't willing to accept the consequences of their own malfeasance, and will defend the status quo until the bitter end. It didn't have to be this way, but today is the same as yesterday, and the current status quo is still unsustainable.

If the markets don't crash in the fall, it will be quiet enough to hear a pin drop through the election and on to next January, as we approach the fiscal cliff. What will be the undoing that topples the US financial house of cards? If the banks fail, they'll be taken over with succession plans already in place. Any other black swan will be met with appropriate action. TPTB must be looking through rose colored lenses, because PIIGS is only a foreshadow of what is coming in the mother of all recessions. 1913 gave us the fed, it's time to kick them out, pay them back with their fiat money, and institute free market reforms in the banking industry. If your bank makes bad loans, you FAIL, BASTARDS!!!  If you underwrite bad loans, you FAIL, BASTARDS!!! Fuck Barney Franks, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. Will they ever admit they failed? Not very likely. Those fuckers screwed up so bad with sub-prime loans in the name of affordable housing, then US regulators let MBS and derivatives stew into a toxic brew, which then added $6T to the debt in 4 years, that It should serve as a lesson to TUSCON, don't fuck with the markets, but it may also be a lesson they'll never forget.

Here we are four years later, and are we better off? It depends on whether you're a national defense/security contractor. Business is booming as federal spending replaced private investment. Now at the end of the deficit spending rope, either private industry is allowed to flourish, by scaling back government, or we enter an Orwellian nightmare where a NWO controls everything, and we see how well central planning works.

Let's see how things look next Spring, and whether this time is different. Either the government backs off, and scales down, or they've lost their legitimacy as a government of, by, and for the people.

TEXAS GOP REVOLT « The Burning Platform

CH, I accept your distinction between economic and political systems. Soviet Communism supported 2% of the population as Party Members, who held the best jobs, lived in the best housing and shopped in the best shops. As near as I can tell, crony Capitalism supports 1%, with the rest of society working in a service economy.

Breaking the grip of the central planners on the economy, by removing control over the means of production and control over policy makers is the key. Holding those accountable for wrong doing is the means. When one can change the rules to suit themselves, whether it’s flushing the US Constitution down the commode under the past two administrations, or replacing state’s delegates by the national party, we have become a lawless society. When central planning fails, it’s replaced by anarchy, which we have already witnessed in post-Soviet Russia. Where as mob bosses have gained power, we see the resurgence of state control.

Re-establishment of the rule of law and a Constitutional Republic will break the grip of Satan over the world, where Ron Paul was willing the lead the fight. I don’t know where Romney and Ryan stand, although I may have to retract my statement about voting for the most incompetent candidate. I had no reservations about voting for GWB because he is a professed Christian. That’s good enough for me.

TEXAS GOP REVOLT « The Burning Platform

TEXAS GOP REVOLT « The Burning Platform

If voting for the lesser of two evils is the choice in this November election, which is the lesser, Socialism, which hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried, or ruthless Capitalism, which has successfully exploited every known resource everywhere it's been tried.

Do both lead to a totalitarian dictatorship? We seem to have been moving in that direction under both GWB and Obama. Which is the lesser of two evils, indeed. It would appear we're voting for the same evil in either case. The manner in which Romney has run his primary election, ruthless and calculating, disqualifies him, in my opinion, to be POTUS.

In this case, the lesser of two evils is the most incompetent, which would be Bama. At least with Obama, we know what we're getting, the destruction of the dollar by QE. Romney would perform much the same actions, but he would also lead the emergence of the NWO. I'm not sure who would in democrat land, some sort of power sharing arrangement.

Everything we've been told by the feds is a lie, namely to secure their own pitiful little pensions, their "way of life", if you will. What has $16T of debt and $200T of unfunded entitlements gotten us besides the destruction of the republic and enslavement to the central banks? We're going to find out. Somehow, the grip of the central banks on the sovereignty of nations must be broken. Taking back the printing press and paying off the banks in diluted dollars is the only solution I see. Who gave them the right to charge us for the use of our money? Certainly not the US Constitution! It's only a shame that legality is only relative, if the rules can be changed by those in power to stay in power, as demonstrated by the GOP primary elections and national convention.

One has to admit that GWB set the bar pretty low with regard to leadership. He looked like a billion dollars standing around in his winter long coats, looking for all the world like the Michelin man with a bad case of hemroids. 9/11 was the neocon call to arms, with no rational explanation except it was a false flag event orchestrated by the shadow government, and American liberty has been steadily eroded by both the Bush and Obama administrations, in fact, one would be hard pressed to tell the difference. I suspect that will be the case whoever wins the next election, Obamney or Rombama.

GWB caved on Iraq and TARP. America should have know better than to trust a man who doesn’t drink and whose father lied to the American people when he said, “No new taxes”.

The Devil is ramping up the attack with drought conditions over much of the US, and the threat of power outages in California due to the heat wave.

To blame Obama, or criticize his leadership is out of ignorance of the true cause of the crises, a concerted effort by the god of this world to steal, kill and destroy, aided by his unwitting dupes in the federal bureaucracy and global financial elite. All of whom have conspired to destroy the beacon of freedom which this country formerly represented.

The current exponential rise began with Reagan, and accelerated under GWB. Obama is just riding the rocket, because he doesn’t have any choice. Neither will Romney be able to do anything to arrest a situation out of control. Paul is still the best and only answer to the problem of deficit spending. Barring getting rid of the fed and passing a balanced budget amendment, we’ll only continue a slow decline into oblivion and totalitarian police state, if we aren’t destroyed by global war or financial collapse first.

PC, I can only tell you Bush cratered on Iraq and TARP, as well as the Patriot Act, etc. I’ve heard this quote attibuted to GWB, “Stop waving the constitution in my face. It’s just a goddamned piece of paper!”. That my friend, makes him a terrorist and enemy of the state.

"Sorry, this man was not riding the rocket. He has deliberately destroyed this country in his thirst for more power." What??? In the first place, he’s already ostensibly the most powerful man on the face of the earth. I’m not sure what that makes the individuals who put him there, his handlers? In the second, more power? For whom? Again, his handlers? Yeah, and aren’t they the same as Romney’s?

If it were a conspiracy of men, then droughts, brown outs, tsunamis rendering neglected nuclear waste potentially extinction events, etc., which are outside of man’s control, would be otherwise just another conspiracy theory, which, when proven, is no longer a theory. Yet, leading up to Y2K, natural and man-made disasters have coincided to magnify the damage. Now, we have another drought. Coincidence? Granted, that is the whole point of risk management, when you ignore it, it bites you. So, while there may be a perfectly natural explanation, I prefer the spiritual aspect. I suspect, too, that is neither illuminating nor enlightening enough for you. God can’t be proven scientifically, however, it is he who set the universe in motion. Although, I will leave you with this thought, spiritual law supersedes natural law.

And let the redeemed say, "Amen".

HOW TO DEFEAT TYRANNY « The Burning Platform

Anyone who thinks the US honors it's own treaties need only look to the American Indian. This US has broken every treaty it has ever made with the Indians, except the last one, and is now in the process of treating it's own citizens in the same manner.

Totalitarian authority is absolute, and there is no room for the rule of law. Occupy Wall Street is a good example of what the US will look like in a few years, against billions of rounds of ammunition and urban armored vehicles. The resolve of the American people will remain resolute, even in the face of overwhelming odds.

The tyranny of the crown has been replaced by the twentieth century nation state, where the means of production are controlled by a few and ruled by an oligarchy. Now that the last of the minerals rights on the earth have been divided, it is time to focus on population control, and derive an optimum sustainable level. The only nagging element in the equation is those pesky humans. Why shouldn't the resources of the world be controlled by a few, for their enjoyment and amusement? Just ask the British royal family, they certainly belong to the global cabal. One might be surprised by the answer.

CRISIS OF VALUES « The Burning Platform

FBD, because without an arbiter of truth, and I accept God’s Word as truth, then there is no foundation on which to base any dialogue, and no point in further discussion. That doesn’t mean I won’t point out when someone is wrong.

One can argue semantics until the end of the world, and never arrive at any mutual understanding. By the same token, one can lean unto their own understanding, but they will usually be wrong. (Proverbs 3:5 ESV).

IOW, and not to belabor the point, how else does one distinguish between right and wrong, without a frame of reference by which to do so? And if one chooses a frame of reference, how does one know it to be right? The infallible and unerring Word of God is the answer to both of these questions. One may choose other sources for truth, but in the end, it is God’s Word that is above all.

If you deny this self-evident truth, then I will ask you, what is truth?

And to tie this in with the OP, the reason we have a crisis of values, is because we have rejected the truth of God’s Word, and rejected his righteousness, loving money and self more than truth. There will be a day of reckoning, and it will be God’s reckoning, not man’s. I will lean unto God’s understanding and trust him, and point out the flaw in Christopher’s dismissal of religious arguments, that he is rejecting God, and therefore rejecting truth to his own detriment.

Since you asked.

CORRUPT GOP ESTABLISHMENT « The Burning Platform

@Colma, except they didn’t just do it, they’ve been one party in a two party system where there’s no difference between the two except on what they want to spend borrowed money. Case in point, Ronald Reagan, on who’s watch the deficit began it’s current exponential rise.

In fact, your argument belies the denial in which most Americans find themselves, almost without exception.

Let’s pass a balanced budget amendment, then debate on what to spend it. We’ll only be debating crumbs, then maybe the feds will lose their pre-eminence and people will go about their lives in a de-centralized manner. We can end this mess by taking back the presses from the fed, printing $15T and pay off the US debt, maybe another $5T or so to pay off everyone else’s with the stipulation of balanced budget amendments. Unfunded entitlements will also have to end.

It’s not rocket surgery, but there is the Devil with whom to contend.

MATH IS HARD – ESPECIALLY FOR BOOMERS « The Burning Platform

Medicare was instituted in the 1960's, which passed the responsibility of elder care from insurance companies, which had been earning profits on premiums all along, and hid the real cost of health care in the national debt, effectively kicking the can on health care down the road 60 years.

It's just another form of entitlement spending which the boomer generation didn't pay for, they paid for their parents, but because the boomers haven't left anything for their children, or anyone for that matter, they've sucked up all the resources this country had to offer, subsequent generations aren't in any position to pay for boomers in their retirement.

It's important to note, boomers are receiving far more than they ever paid in to any of these entitlement programs. They're all funded at this point by deficit spending. Welcome to party, break's over.

RUDDERLESS SOCIETY ADRIFT ON A SEA OF DELUSION « The Burning Platform

A "rudderless economy" will result in anarchy and a police state, which is the direction we're rushing headlong. Instead of reducing the size and scope of government, which is what Reagan promised to do if elected. Or did he? It's been so long ago my recollection is fuzzy, and it's not just because it's a Monday.

It's scary to think Cheney and Rumsfeld were working as part of the national security apparatus in the Nixon administration, and shameless that GWB would be their patsy.

If the US administration will facilitate murder by funding terrorists willing to fly passenger jets into the WTC, the Pentagon, and the White House, there is no limit nor end to which they are willing to go to do the bidding of their master, the Devil. They will all meet the same fate.

LIFE, LIBERTY, PROPERTY « The Burning Platform

Ron Paul is the best candidate to lead this country through the shit storm which is bound to happen. Barritt Obamney will sell us out like a cheap suit.

It won't happen because a vote for Paul requires admitting the current system is doomed to fail. The statist quo would rather see a police state maintain federal central planning than own up to it's own failure. No doubt the banksters will be the scape goats, while the root of the problem lies in the US Congress, which is the same body which gave us the Fed to line their own pockets. We were doomed when we went off the gold standard without a balanced budget amendment to prevent out of control federal spending.

I, as most of you, will not go quietly into that dark night. Unfortunately, there are those who are just as passionate about bringing about our downfall. Perhaps it would be best to help them along. I considered at one point that was the intent of Reagan and GWB, to spend the liberals out of existence. I'm not sure that was their goal, but it will be the consequence, regardless.

God help us all.

It's not only UNC, but the university system, and the entire executive branch. The culture of corruption in Raleigh has one side justifying it's actions by the egregious example set by the other side. It would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic.

State governments, even when there's no accountability, at least have to balance their budgets, the problems with the feds exponentially outweigh those of the states.

When they started printing monopoly money with the creation of the fed, without a constitutional balanced budget amendment, laid the foundation for the current global financial and sovereign debt crises. Globalism has worked wonders, to the extent we are Greece.

THE ELITE DON’T PAY NO STINKING TAXES « The Burning Platform

I've stated this before, the national debt could be paid off by assessment, i.e. a percentage of wealth, with a balanced budget amendment and requiring a two thirds majority in both houses of Congress to raise taxes.

I've also stated that adding a national VAT and national wealth tax would distribute the tax burden across the spectrum of economic activity, instead of placing it directly on the shoulder of wage earners, although the best solution would be to abolish the income tax.

Ron Paul would begin to move the country in the direction of less government  by cutting spending. The average citizen's lives haven't gotten bad enough to convince enough of them to vote against the status quo. After November, it will be too late, as whatever reset is going to occur is going to happen in a two to three year time frame, maybe sooner, as soon as September, if financial markets implode, or later, within two decades as demographics simply overwhelm the entitlement system.

The vote in November will be a choice between Socialist Marxism and Capitalism. Socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried, ever. Free market Capitalism needs to decentralize, which is exactly what the status quo doesn't want. For them, the elite, by divine providence or otherwise, the choice is simple, relinquish control or be destroyed.

Milton's Paradise Lost includes the phrase, "it's better to reign in hell, than serve in heaven", and this seems to be the mindset of the controlling elite. These unwitting dupes know not whom they serve, for their master, the Devil, will as surely destroy them as he would those of us remaining.

Very, very scary! « The Burning Platform

The federal bureaucracy, existing solely to perpetuate itself.

Would it be difficult to take down? Nope, just let the government lose the ability to borrow money, then out of order phones will be the least of our concerns.

Paying off the national debt by assessment, institute a balanced budget amendment with a two-thirds majority required to raise taxes and get rid of all tax deductions would right the ship. But then, these things aren't too hard to figure out. It would be possible to tweak the existing system if it weren't so perversely motivated.

Jesse Jackson, Jr? And from Illinois, at that!

Here we are, nearly 50 years removed from the Civil Rights movement of the 1950's and 60's. Race relations may have improved, it’s hard to tell, but civil rights have most certainly gone backwards since Bush and Obama. OWS is the most recent case in point.

Here’s the tin foil hat question of the day, considering the only winner in the 9/11/2001 bombing of the WTC in NYC was the federal bureaucracy and military contractors, does it not stand to reason it was they who perpetrated the bombing? It’s not unprecedented in recent history.

However, I’ll skip to the chase and clue you in on exactly who it was, it was Satan, being that September 11, 3 BC is the birthdate of Christ. How he accomplished that feat is an unknown. Suffice it to say, the terrorists won when TSA came into being.

The global financial crisis is promising to keep us on the edge of our seats until November, distracting us from our own recession. The Zimmerman case will be percolating until needed to incite race riots once more and usher in a new round of police state tactics. In the meantime, Jesse Jackson, Jr wants to pay more for a chocolate milkshake and make sure everyone stays on food stamps.

My, how the wheels are going to fly off the socialist double dutch bus, by this time next year as the reality of the debt ceiling meets federal deficit spending! How long will foreign sovereign funds be willing to park their assets in UST? The only thing holding keeping this runaway train from jumping the tracks is the feds ability to borrow money. That they are able to do it, is our own failing as a society and a nation.

Agenda 21 provision and Restaurant Carry bill

North Carolina General Assemby

Dear Sir or Madam,

I'm concerned about two issues, Agenda 21 and Restaurant Carry and urge you deny Agenda 21, or "Smart Growth" language in North Carolina statutes, and support moving Restaurant Carry (HB111) to the floor for a vote.

What is Agenda 21? An article in American Thinker titled UN Agenda 21 - Coming to a Neighborhood near You states,

"Clearly, smart growth plans will impact Americans' future choices in where and how they live. Furthermore, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other federal and state agencies may attempt to deny grant funds to states and cities that do not adopt smart growth plans."

"Regardless of political orientation, two indisputable facts remain. Agenda 21 is a direct assault on private property rights and American sovereignty, and it is coming to a neighborhood near you."

This is not an agenda which could possibly be in the best interests of the citizens of this state.

On the other hand, HB111 - "Amend Firearms Laws" is in the best interests of law abiding citizens by reducing crime and saving lives.

In this critical election year, and for all citizens, do what is right and send a clear message that North Carolina will protect the constitutional rights of it's citizens by enacting legislation to support those rights, and resisting external influences working to subvert those rights.

Sincerely,

A Concerned Voter

Compassion – Killer of Society? « The Burning Platform

Socialism doesn't work as an economic system because it's removes the incentive to work. Communism is a form of government where there is the party, 2% of the population in the USSR, who are the priviledged, and everyone else is on their own. It seems to work just fine until the population has had enough and cast off the yoke of bondage. Russia now has elections, and it may be enough that people have a vote.

Socialism still doesn't work anywhere. We're seeing the result of it in Europe. I believe it's a global war of attrition, and the US has a better than even chance of winning. So the US wins, like Stalin in Soviet Russia. He still starved tens of millions. The Trans Pacific Pact is an out of control federal bureaucracy's latest attempt to sell out the sovereignty of this nation and conspire with global elements to enslave and subjugate the population of the entire world. Sounds like a game plan out of Satans play book, with the State Department leading the effort.

SCREWED GENERATION « The Burning Platform

Whether or not boomers caused the financial crisis which began in 2008 and continues, is not the point. It is our system of government which allowed it, or rather lack of adherence to the constitution.

T'Bird was right is saying we inherit the system from our forebearers, who didn't stand up to the centralized power in Washington. It is the same debate as Jefferson and Hamilton, the same conflict which gave us the Civil War, and has consistently and progressively stripped American citizens of their rights. The federal government is the problem, for more reasons than can be stated here. How does one stand up to it? The individual can by being debt free and going Galt. The gauntlet has been thrown. Do we want to live in such a society? How do we reclaim it, as if it ever was ours.

Because the Devil is the god of this world (II Cor 4:4), our only hope and salvation is from above, and to destroy the works of the devil, between our own two ears, by putting on the light of God's Word, and eschewing evil.

Jimmy Carter was the last modern POTUS to attempt to reign in the federal bureaucracy. A peanut farmer from Georgia. Since Reagan, deficit spending has been on an exponential trajectory for one reason, and one reason only, profligate spending by the US Congress to the benefit of themselves and the 1%, at the expense of the national treasury. Because, they can read the writing on the wall, that the days of our current entitlement system are numbered, and they want to accumulate as much wealth for themselves as fast as they can, instead of doing what they should be doing, tweaking the system for the betterment of all, and forging a sustainable economic system, even at their own expense.

The Israeli Supreme Court building was financed by Dorothy Rothschild and is a monument to the Illuminati. This is fact not fiction. Anyone who has read Kings in the Old Testament will know the rulers of Israel were judged by whether they followed after God or Baal. Not all of them followed the one true God, but rather built alters and places of worship to honor pagan idols. Other rulers followed who tore down these places of worship and followed after God Almighty.

The history of Judaism is one of much failure, while redemption has been through it's heroes and prophets, all of whom believed God and his Word. We are in a struggle to the death with the god of this world (II Corinthians 4:4), and it will end only when Christ returns. In fact, Revelation goes into a lot of detail in this matter.

AWD mentions the last anti christ killed 20 million, presumably referring to Stalin. The Devil must raise up an anti-Christ in every generation, because he doesn't know when Christ will return.

"Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour." - I John 2:18 (ESV)

Cheney was a good bet in the previous administration, Obama is a good bet in this one. You know they're going to stick close to those nuclear codes.

If it were within man to save himself, then Jesus Christ would not have needed to die on the cross. Our salvation is from above, not in this world.

RIOTS COMING TO AMERICA « The Burning Platform

Riots are coming to America, and a police state. Quite ironic, considering the revolutionary war was fought as a response to imperial tyranny.

Of course, all of this may be forgotten in an instant, if Fukashima unleashes it's radioactive payload on the Northern Hemisphere, Christ returns, aliens invade, a meteorite collides with earth, or any number of events occur outside the control of man.

Anything that takes out the grid, also takes out the police state's ability to maintain any semblance of control.

Under any circumstances, and by any reasoned consideration beyond that of the 1%, the police state is the enemy, all of which serve their masters in the 1/0 of 1%.

"You cannot serve God and money." Matthew 6:24b (ESV)

If you are reading this, then please consider who is your master. I have confessed Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and believe God raised Christ from the dead.

"because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved" Romans 10:9-10 (ESV)

Saved from what?

"Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God." Romans 5:9 (ESV)

We have also been made more than conquerors.

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans 8:37 (ESV)

"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet." Matthew 24:6 (ESV)

I've done all the interim prepping I need to for the moment, and could survive 2-3 months of just about anything except CBR (NBC in my day). Anything beyond that and we're pretty much back to 19th century technology for sustenance, for which I'm ill-prepared even with heirloom seeds.

The Devil is the god of this world (II Cor 4:4) and we can't defeat him, which won't happen until Revelation 20:7, which is after the devil has been sealed in a pit for a thousand years. However can destroy his works. "The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil." (1 John 3:8b).

I mention these scriptures because we can't defeat Satan of our own accord, it requires putting our faith in God. By all means, prepare with every means at your disposal. The enemy is cunning, but he is not all powerful. If we put our faith in God, as our forefathers did in the founding of this country, then we may wrest it once again from the grasp of the adversary, whatever it takes.

It didn't take long after the founding until the New York banksters got their hand in the till. This time around, they can either remove it, which is doubtful, or have it cut off, which I will willingly oblige.

Super Tuesday won’t come soon enough for us in NC. We get to vote on a Marriage Amendment and the primaries.

I’m a registered Independent, so won’t be voting any primaries, which sucks, just the amendment.

I will be voting for Dr. Paul in the general election, if they’re held. How come if 11 of 50 states are technically bankrupt, with obligations totaling more than can ever be paid, and spending falling slower than revenues, were aren’t hearing the apocalyptic banging of the drums on state defaults? The simple answer is the feds have stepped in to fill the gap.

NC owes billions in unemployment payments borrowed from the feds, one of the highest amounts in the country. They’re working on ways to pay that back.

Employment numbers are slowly improving, depending on how you count them, but it’s an improvement.

January 2013 is the next time the can gets kicked down the road, when tax cuts expire, automatic budget cuts are triggered, and long term unemployment payments expire.

I'm gonna party like it's 2012!

DESTROYING CAPITALISM « The Burning Platform

HZK, socialism fell because central planning is a failure. Capitalism became without any natural predators, and it too will fail due to one fundamental flaw, inequity. When the wage earner or producer of raw materials provides a dollar of input to production, they are paid their dollar and told “thank you very much”. When the capitalist provides a dollar of input to production, he expects to receive a profit. We have heard for years this is because the capitalist is taking all the risk. Really?

When the game is rigged, or properly regulated, which ever the case, all inputs of production should receive a proportionate share of the profit based on the dollar amount of their input.

Properly regulated and held accountable, the fruits of production should be shared by all who provided an input.

I suppose that is asking a lot. We will see what is required to settle accounts.

America: A Government Out Of Control « The Burning Platform

Satan would have a one world government to more effectively enslave the global population. The homey’s in FL are not an issue. The homey’s in DC are an exponentially greater problem. Martial law and the suspension of constitutional rights are an exponentially greater problem.

The Trayvon Martin case may trigger some retaliation violent crimes, as they already have. There may even be a Rodney King style response by the black community. It didn’t work in 1992, even when the riots spread up and down the west coast as far South as San Diego, and as far North as Portland, OR. These were disaffected individuals looking for an excuse to commit mayhem.

Even this isn’t a big problem as long as you don’t get caught up in it.

The bigger problem is state sponsored violence against it’s own citizens. And no, I’m not talking about police brutality. The american people won’t stand for it, and the only way it will be successful is an all out assault. AWD and his kind will go underground, and wait them out. No foreign country has been foolish enough to invade US soil since the american revolution. The US federal government would be equally foolish. Wars aren’t won with bullets, boots or technology. They are won with commitment, determination and perseverance. While there is no doubt the enemy, the Devil, is cunning, there is equally no doubt as to the outcome of all out war, or Armageddon. Michael Hudson on Why There is an Alternative to European Austerity

What else is there to say, really?

Michael Hudson on Why There is an Alternative to European Austerity:

(c. 54:27) “Whenever you have a misunderstanding of reality year after year, decade after decade, and now for a century, when a false picture of the economy is painted you can be sure that there is a special interest benefiting. A false picture of reality does not happen by nature; it is subsidised. And the banking sector has subsidised a junk economics that is taught in the universities, broadcast from your newspapers, mouthed by the politicians, whose election they sponsor, to try to make you believe, that you’re living on Mars in a different kind of a world—instead of the actual country that you’re living in—and to pretend that there is no financial class that is trying to grab what belongs to the public at large. This is what ends up with a difference between central bank creation by the government with the government aims of economic growth and full employment, as compared with commercial bank credit that aims at economic shrinkage, at austerity, at lower wages, at lower output, so that it can do to you what the commercial banks are doing to Greece, to say give us your ports and your land and your tourist areas and your water and sewer systems, so we can charge you for water and sewer. And we can take the money that you had expected to get in pensions and we can scale it down, so that we can pay ourselves.

(c. 56:10) “This is what it took an army in times past. And today it’s done without an army, as long as you will be passive and believe the science-fiction of the world that banks are painting. Thank you. [Applause]”

Economy was looking up for us till gas hit 3.50

While I understand the sentiment and tendency to blame Obama, he's a puppet, albeit a dangerous one. It would appear that for the last 30 years, beginning with Reagan, who talked the talk of less government, and walked the walk of big government, that each successive administration has been progressively worse than the preceding one.

Deficits began climbing through the stratosphere under Reagan and a democratic controlled US CONgress. Who has benefited from all this deficit spending? The top 1 percent wage earners of our population, who are servicing the top 1/10 of 1%, while wages for average Americans have been stagnant since the seventies.

We are rapidly approaching an end game when the US will be enslaved by it's debt, and the budget will be consumed by federal retirement and interest on the debt, as Barry Goldwater described it back in the sixties.

If all of the war mongering by the US has been to preserve the status of the dollar as the world's reserve currency, then all of the US deficit spending has been to benefit the global banking cartel and corporate fascists, and the US would be better off repudiating the debt. Argentina has done it, numerous times. Iceland has done it. Greece, Italy, Ireland, Spain and Portugal (PIIGS) should do it. The dollar should be replaced by an asset backed currency, and all sovereign debt should be absolved. The alternative of doing nothing will result in another 2008 crisis, which was the worst since the the depression of the nineteen thirties, only four times worse.

Oh, and by the way, Obama couldn't pull this stuff off, there is a chief conspirator, and his name is Satan and the Devil. Believe God, love your neighbor as yourself, and God bless.

It looks like we’re going to war with Iran to save the dollar, for what?

If one assumes for the sake of argument that the imperial US foreign and military policy of this century has been dictated by the global banking cartel, and effectively enslaving the US in debt, then what does the US have to gain from any further war mongering.

Wouldn’t it be better to repudiate the US debt and let the dollar collapse? Is the status of the dollar worth a single life, let alone the fate of the world?

Meth lab busts soar in N.C.

The bad and good news is meth lab busts soar. Drug use is an epidemic. The percentage of arrests that are for drugs is staggering, and the related crime from addicts has a high social cost. We're losing the war on drugs just like every other state sponsored war beginning with the war on poverty, look at Detroit,  and the wars on drugs, and now terrorism.

The only winner is the federal bureaucracy which justifies spending vast sums of borrowed dollars on these causes, while at the same time perpetuating the very thing they attempt to combat.

Running out of money is the only thing that's going to curb the beast that has become our federal government. Next year is going to be tough when automatic federal spending cuts take effect, if Congress doesn't change it's mind, long term unemployment benefits run out, and the Bush era tax cuts expire.

There's no magic bullet except reducing the size of the federal government, beginning with the DHS. It's either that or a police state when the US Treasury loses the ability to borrow money, or a nation enslaved by debt. Either way, it's no longer possible to support the public sector in the manner in which it has grown accustomed, with borrowed money.

That's the reality of the fiscal circumstances in which our federal government finds itself. I say start cutting federal spending now, and Ron Paul is the only candidate who promising to do so  if elected. There's no other way we survive as a nation of free people.

Unemployment and stocks

Unemployment and stocks
In January 2013, extended unemployment benefits run out, tax cut extension expires, and $2.4T in across the board cuts are implemented. All of this spells an unmitigated disaster. The parabolic debt curve must be arrested. The ONLY way to do this is to reduce the size of government, which has essentially replaced the private sector.

Considering it is unlikely we will go what is right, then what is likely depends on whether Obama or Romney are POTUS. Obama will expand government, to what end no one knows, and Romney will allow corporations to continue to loot the national treasury. Either way, we have new masters, the elite, and everyone else is left to fight for the scraps, meaning the housing and labor markets are toast.

It's possible Obama is the lesser of two evils considering the reality of our unsustainable debt trend. Growing government is better than allowing corporations free reign. What is unholy is a corporate government alliance, against which we don't stand a chance economically. I don't know if that's feasible after everything else has been abandoned, there just isn't enough to go around.

So, while corporations continue to move offshore, and government continues to grow, the only unknown is how long the US will be able to borrow money. That is an international concern, as friction overseas translates into dollars invested in Treasuries. There may be a period of calm when the US needs to borrow money, and no one is willing to lend. At that point, there will be no private industry, and corporations will be in the wind. At that point, it will be too late to discuss limiting government and regulating industry. We need both, the lack of which is the legacy of post WWII America.

constitutionality of federal agencies - Survivalist Forum

constitutionality of federal agencies - Survivalist Forum
I believe the US Constitution was suspended by emergency powers granted to the executive branch to conduct war, and has subsequently been eroded by the Patriot Act and NDAA.

As such, it falls into the category of strongly suggested, not rigid boundaries, and the federal government pretty much does what it wants to anyway.

The federal bureaucracy has taken on a life of it's own, and is out of control. Jimmy Carter was the last POTUS to attempt to reign in the bureaucracy and we see how well he fared.

Ron Paul is our last best hope to return our government to a Constitutional Republic. It's already too late, but we may be able to blunt the force of the backlash when the rest of the world jettison's the dollar as the world's reserve currency.

Mr. Atterney General,

I'm writing to express my concern over settlement for release of liability of the banks for forging documents, "robo signing", and servicing impropriety.

The State of New York is suing these same banks over the use of Mortgage Electronic Registration System (MERS). In addition, these same banks are producing false documentation, or robo signed documentation in foreclosure cases.

There is an article today from Yves Smith of Naked Capitalism which provides further analysis of the settlement, and makes the point the Mortgage Settlement is merely another bail out for the banks (http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2012/02/more-on-the-role-of-second-liens-and-the-mortgage-settlement-as-stealth-bank-bailout.html).

History will show that shifting private sector losses onto public treasuries will destroy a notion's economy. Bailouts of the banking cartel were wrong in 2008, and they are wrong today. Japan  still suffers from allowing banks to continue to operate after suffering massive losses. Glass-Steagall should be re-enacted and these banks should be forced to realize their losses and not pass them on to private investors.

Sincerely,

[Name Withheld]

FOR OUR POSTERITY? « The Burning Platform

FOR OUR POSTERITY? « The Burning Platform
It's going to take non-violent civil disobedience rising to the level of Vietnam anti-war  and civil rights protests of the 1960's to get the attention of the Congress. Globalism is a good business model, but corporate fascism must be met with equally rigid regulation. That didn't happen and here we are. There is nothing left except the long haul of recovery, but by what means? Mainly cutting spending, tax and entitlement reform, which will displace large numbers of people. There is a good read called, "Who Moved My Cheese?" and that is where all of us will find ourselves when the government well runs dry. That it will run dry, there is no question, only when. RP advocates digging a new well with our own proverbial hands, but it's unlikely a critical mass will listen and take notice unless and until there is a crisis. The WWII generation dug their own well and it lasted a long time. It took a world war to get them to work together. Another world war won't accomplish anything good, it's time to finish what the protesters of the sixties started and dismantle the war machine and the global financial elite it supports. RP is still the right candidate, if only people could see past their own differences and look to see what is for the greater good.

FOR OUR POSTERITY? « The Burning Platform

FOR OUR POSTERITY? « The Burning Platform

The problem with electing RP is he will do what he says he will do, namely cut the federal budget by $1T the first year. Carter was the last President to even attempt to reign in the federal bureaucracy, and we see how well he fared.

The first thing the bureaucracy will do is cause an immediate crash of all things holy and unholy. Remember, they are the largest unionized work force in the world. Drones and non-drones alike will be screaming bloody murder for someone to do something.

The best case for RP to get elected is for the wheels to come off the bus prior to the election, and for somehow public awareness raises to the level that we must cut public spending to pre-WWII levels adjusting for inflation and population and perhaps factor in real, not counterfeit GDP.

Even without bureaucratic sabotage, there will be a severe disruptive effect of cutting that much spending. Most people will not want to endure the remedy, and rather die from the disease of an out of control federal bureaucracy and deficit spending. Public sector spending has effectively crowded out private investment in this country and elsewhere. During a transition phase from all funds being funneled through the bureaucracy, to as little as possible, jobs will be lost, that will need to be made up for by the private sector. The best way to do this is to get rid of the Fed, maybe even a debt jubilee. I don't know what it will take to effect such a sea change.

If RP isn't elected, and an establishment candidate takes control, $2.4T in spending cuts over 10 years will be implemented beginning Jan, 2013. Republicans are already complaining that $700B is too much to cut from defense spending, so we may forego these cuts altogether.

With the CBO report released this week, at least candidates want be able to run around declaring how grand things are, and we're on the right track.

A sea change in an organized manner, is better than a deflationary depression, unless you ask a 1/10th of one percenter, who would rather see Rome burn to the ground than give up one red cent. I don't know if there's a gold standard in Hell, but they don't deserve one if there is.

Yet More Mortgage Settlement Lies: Release Looks Broad, Not Narrow; Other States Screwed to Bribe California to Join « naked capitalism
Roy Cooper

Mr. Attorney General,

I'm writing once again to express my opposition any settlement of mortgage fraud by the banking industry. Banks made billions selling trillions of dollars in loans and subsequent fraudulent transfers.

Liability for fraud isn't limited to how much money was made, but by the damage that was caused by the fraud. Millions of dollars in title transfer fees are still owed to counties by for land transfers made using the Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems (MERS).

Rushing to settle with the banking industry takes away the individual borrowers ability to defend against ongoing fraudulent foreclosure practices including document forgery and "robosigning".

Industry experts are closely watching these proceedings and have serious concerns about the banking industry getting a cash for release deal.

Please read this article written by Yves Smith in New York about this deal, and please monitor her website to get the other side of the story.

CONGRESS AND THE CONSTITUTION’S POST MORTEM « The Burning Platform

CONGRESS AND THE CONSTITUTION’S POST MORTEM « The Burning Platform

Hamilton took a bullet, but Thomas Jefferson died broke. It seems he wasn’t all that great with managing his personal finances.

Even so, finance isn’t that difficult to figure, and more so than engineering, and imagine the outrage if public structures were built that only the elite could use, like the Brooklyn Bridge. There is proprietary and there is the public good. What is missing is a moral compass in Congress, wherein lays the bulk of corruption today.

The die is cast, automatic spending cuts which will take effect in Jan 2013 after the Congressional Super Committee failed to reach agreement on the same spending cuts as proposed by the Bowles – Simpson Plan amount to $2.4T over ten years.

The global financial system isn’t going to last ten years at the rate we’re going. Bernanke supposedly is less concerned about inflation than he is about a deflationary depression. Stagflation occurred in the 1970's until the deficit began to sky rocket under Reagan. While wages remained flat, public sector spending began crowing out private investment, where today there is no private investment except by huge funds. The other shoe will drop, and who ever knows where isn’t telling. It could be this Spring as OWS protests pick up in earnest.

We can’t have a housing recovery without full employment, and we can’t have full employment without reversing the trend of sending jobs overseas for the past twenty five years. A jobless recovery isn’t a recovery. Something else must be done to put people back to work, or we will continue to slide further into recession. When you pay people not to work, they don’t work, period.

The two party system has failed America. Obama has eleven more months to screw things up. If Romney is the best the GOP can put up to run against him, I will vote for Paul as an independent. There just aren’t enough of us Tea Partiers to decide the presidential election.

the state shares this dubious right but not with you - Shooting Sports Forum

the state shares this dubious right but not with you - Shooting Sports Forum

Life begins at birth, with the first breath of a new born. One can argue about when is a fetus viable outside the womb, but that's semantics.

The word for life used in the bible is "pnoes", it's the first breath of life. Adam became a living soul when God breathed life into his nostrils. Those are the facts.

Either live by the word of god, or your own understanding. Most people will cling to their own understanding, even when presented with the facts and thusly are correctly labeled "idiots", leaning to "one's own" understanding.

I didn't write the book. God did. Either live by it or don't, but don't lie about whether you do. The bible doesn't say anything about abortion, and even then, it's up to the individual(s) involved, not society. Or does society get to decide other medical procedures I might have? I think not, and anyone who does needs to rethink their position, or take a hike. If I want to kill myself, no one has a right to stop me.

Those who oppose abortion would do well to mind their own business, and stop minding everyone else's. Or where does meddling in the lives of other's end.

A tree is known by it's fruit. Eric Rudolph and the sniper who killed an abortion doctor through a window in his house should be proof enough of the fruit of the anti abortion group.

Abortion is not genocide. There is more than enough of that going on without interfering in the private lives of individuals.

Idiots.

When do we hit the tipping point? - Survivalist Forum

When do we hit the tipping point? - Survivalist Forum
That will be the tipping point, when the federal government shuts down due to lack of funds and the government cheese runs out.

There are certain federal government functions that will continue to operate, including Congressional payroll and presumably the military without the benefit of payroll. Everyone else will be on their own and it's SHTF.

I expect an uneasy peace due in large part to armed civilians. During this period, people will continue to go to work. That won't last more than two or three weeks. Hopefully, the National Guard will prevent widespread disturbances.

The last time the federal government shut down, mortgages weren't getting processed because the GSE's underwrite most of them. Other than passports and SS offices, or you conduct business with the feds, I'm not sure anyone will notice. TPTB will be in full panic mode and on red alert. Implementing whatever emergency plans they've made, whether continuity of government or GOOD. Expect more than a few private planes to be taking off, without return flight plans.

I would expect some sort of global settlement within 2 - 3 weeks. At this point, we would be in a full blown deflationary depression, by anybody's definition. People are already surviving on government aid, and that well has been tapped. The feds have been stockpiling freeze dried rations, but somehow I don't get the idea it's going to be for general distribution.

There will have to be some sort of catalyst to get the wheels of civilization turning again. There is a significant national defense concern. We don't want China or Russia invading our shores, or armed Mexican gangs running up the Interstates. Domestic concerns are a different matter, and one can expect regional violence on the scale of Katrina or LA Rodney King riots, not dissimilar from the civil rights riots of the 1960's.

At that point it depends on what services are still available, if banking continues to operate then businesses will continue to stay open while they can. If highways are open and petrol is available, trucks will continue to deliver goods. Power and telecommunications will continue to function. People that work at these institutions shop at the same stores as you and I. That is one thing that is different than in the soviet union, except it's money that keeps everything moving. That requires the banks, and the feds will do everything within their power to keep them open. Then it just depends on how the money is distributed. Businesses won't operate at a loss very long, so they still have to be able to restock, etc. If the general economy has collapsed, no one will have any money because they aren't receiving paychecks. So much is dependent on the federal government these days, but I'm not sure how you would resuscitate the private economy. Presumably there is a critical mass, by which enough government contracts have been handed out, that the money supply is enough for the economy to start moving again. That will be the beginning of the end. After all, if the feds are going to give away contracts for nothing in exchange, why do anything. Our federal government will have failed in it's charter, and there's nothing left but to replace it and eliminate it completely from any interference whatsoever in the lives of individuals. Let judges settle matters of dispute between parties, giving favor to none, with their word being the final say. It is injustice that has led us to this point. And it will be either man's justice or God's that will save us. God speed and God help us all.
