Well, maybe if we start manufacturing goods in the good ol' US of A, once again, then we can put a few people to work, even though I can't imagine who would want to the hire the FSA.
We'll have to import some immigrants to do the work.
If, in fact, the price of imports goes up, is that the end of US consumerism? If there never was any recovery to begin with, can there really be an end of it?
The really big dilemma for the Fed is, when you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't, what do you do? Get out ahead of everyone else. But, get out of what, dodge? Where do you go?
The only seemingly acceptable solution for the top 1% would seem to be the implementation of a police state, which, I believe can be shown to be as feasible as universal health care. We are not the British, nor Canadian. Nor are we sheep;
"As it is written,
For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." (Romans 8:36-37, ESV)
God will not abandon his elect, and it is him in whom we have hope. Hope for the return of Christ and the establishment of his Kingdom, once and for all. The devil can have this world, we have set our sight on a new city, one without blemish, whose foundation is the truth of God's Word. Neither shall we be deterred, not withstanding all the wiles of the wicked one.
"By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God." (Hebrews 11:8-10, ESV).
The devil is a formidable opponent, but with God on our side, we shall prevail.
"What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31, ESV)
I will take my chances with the Lord. Peace to all this holiday season.
